Bots and Gold farmers

I wonder how the Devs will deal with bots and gold farmers Always hated that in a lot of MMO's I have played.

  • hope they do, some games have a few solutions but the gold sellers and botters allways fin ways.
  • Botting in this type of game could pose a real issue since a lot of items will be economy driven. Hopefully farming protection will be a big thing so bots don't take all the resources.
  • In the last Podcast they stated some informations to the resource system. I sounded that (espacially for resource farmers) botting won't pay off. Because the system behind ore veins and the mining spots would make it pretty hard for bots to find them.

Ore veins will be located randomly, and as the devs have said, they wouldn't be there, where you expect them. And once an ore vein is completely mined out, it will disappear for a plenty of time. No one can tell when or even if it will come back. So there's nearly no point in botting, because the amount of bots you would need to find enough ore veins would cost to much money, since an account (so on bot) will cost 15 USD per month. The same goes for mobs or other valuable loot. It will disppear and might never come back to this very place again. Maybe it will spawn at another place, which the bot have to find again.

So I don't think botting will be too much of an issue. But on the other hand... you 'll never know which technique those botters will develop to exploit this game.rentabel

Another issue bots will run into is essentially themselves. If they (manage to) farm up a certain item, they create a huge surplus. that means each item will be worth less as supply is far higher than demand, price will fall to the point it's useless to bot.
I'm still worried about hacking of accounts, though.

  • In a game that is driven by economics i really hope they have zero tolerance for botters/gold farmers and cheaters overall i have seen many games getting destroyed by bots and gold farmers who flood the market with certain items. It would suck if botters and such could control the market and its prices.
  • Perhaps they can institute a bounty on discovered bots and gold spammers and let the community go kill them outright. . . .they could give rewards for getting rid of them, might be a something worth exploring :)

Hmm that would be cool, sucks tho if your mistakenly flagged as a bot :D
  • Or give them permanent corruption ;)
    Let them BOT then.
I am sure the PvP's will have a field day.
  • They could make it an event. . .call it "Spammer Slam" and the reward for the most kicked is "The Sword of Jeffrey" :)
