Please DON'T allow auto travel

I know games like BDO allow you to right click on the main map or city map and you can auto run to the place.
For example in BDO it was a large feeling map because of not allowing fast travel and i love that immersion. But allowing auto-travel to me is the same thing. I want to go from node A to node B just click on the map and go make lunch come back and I am on Node B waiting. It to me truly takes away from the immersion and immensity of the land.

• I would be more worried about being jumped by highway bandits - After walking away hearing battle sounds coming from the computer. Coming back tofind that my mount has been "killed" and my character is low on health if not dead and my pockets being picked clean.

So, while not wanting to disallow auto travel the mode should definitely be a risk vs reward proposition.
• They said last week they wouldn't. Nodes matter. Nodes change from day to day. And they want to encourage re exploration of nodes..not discourage it.
Yea,this is true i watched stream. Will not be auto traveling.
• I'm perfectly ok with auto-run being available, if people wish to take the risk. The fact that it's available doesn't mean you must avail yourself of it, though! Me? I'm like ... yeah, that'd be the time I'd get ganked for sure!
• Interesting. I might like to have auto-follow.
• auto follow was always nice when I had to go to the little mages room and my partner was still running about. Also very conveninet for duo boxing.

Right???
• You have to remember that auto-travel/pathing is a thing in some MMOs because the route is 100% static, never changing. In AoC, routes are *not static*. That road may not be there tomorrow.
Q. 20:30. Will weather, seasons, or terrain affect gameplay?

A. It will affect gameplay 100%. Our seasons are non-static, but static. Zones experience different seasons based on their location. Crops, pathing (a path exists in summer, but not in winter), solid water (can walk on water in winter with no access to what’s under it while frozen), and events bring with it weather (winter dragon appears and brings eternal winter, if players don’t kill the dragon, winter stays). We want to really make the environment immersive and affect gameplay.

Q. 3:40 PM] Organic: @tenchi Q. LAST QUESTION: Will there be an auto-run/PATHING system in the game?
A. You can press Num Lock so you "auto run". Clicking on a waypoint so your character travels there on its own - autopathing - is a no. Faster travel between entire nodes could allow use of a "faster travel" mount.
• I betad for Black Desert and when I found out I could ride a donkey and then click on a map and simply wind up there 15 minutes later?..I lost all interest in that game. There's nothing more "theme park" than a donkey who knows where its going and not being able to veer off that path. They may as well have added auto tp crystals.
• For long jogs I love auto follow for reasons previously stated, when the group can keep moving while you take care of business and they don't have to stand and wait for you. I like auto run so my fingers don't wear out holding down a button. I do hope they have both auto follow and auto run. As far as BDO style map clicking I can do without it, even though I did like it cause I could watch the scenery as I traveled, and I did a lot of traveling with my merchant wagon.

Steven said in the last Q&A I saw, he saw no reason not to have the standard num lock auto run feature. I have not seen anything on /follow.
• I am all for auto travel. As long as i don't take the pathed route that's like 30% protection from ganking.
• I'm having a mixed opinion about auto travel. I might want to move all the way across the area, I'd like it, but again, it destroys immersion, so kinda, no.
It'd suck, but kinda useful.
I don't think it'll be there, so yeah. screw it.
• I think the only way for fast travel is a scientific metropolis and even then it's only within the node
• Just have it so Mages have a spell that eats up a rare herb..that way you can supply the herb as payment and be sure to tip. Thanx for flying the Mages Sky. If we ask you to get off the flight..do it

For the purpose of clarity, I wanted to point out that autorun is not the same as autopathing; autorun usually requires driver attention, where autopathing (between point a and point b) can be done while you're afk.
• The thing that worries me is, anything that makes automation easier makes botting easier.
• From a personal angle, I like the option of auto-pathing. I know that Intrepid has the idea that their world will be so dynamic that none of it should be passed up without experiencing/seeing, but I have my doubts about that. Sometimes, with life limiting available time, I might need to baste that goose or go out and bring the dog in or check on the kids(why are they so quiet???), I wouldn't mind setting the auto-pathing to a destination and letting it go.
I wouldn't expect to travel any faster. I wouldn't expect to be any more immune from attack than normal. I would like to sometimes multitask a little when it helps me get everything done that needs doing.
• It isn't just editing that sometimes eats your post...

I like auto-pathing because it allows time for all manner of other tasks. It doesn't mean that I expect it to be faster or make me immune to attack along the way. Just that I can take a risk and get some other quick thing done with the attention free from the screen for a few minutes...

I agree , if a person want to Auto walk somewhere there the ones taking the risk.
What the dev have problem with is fast travel and I have no issue with them taking that away because as they stated
it limit the ability of zerg to quickly form and somewhere. There needs to be planning to attacking in large numbers.
