Crafting Profession - (Shipwright)

I hope we can take the wood we gather from the (Woodcutting) profession and take it to a (Shipwright) Crafter and build our own ships. I would like to be able to upgrade and customize my ship like you can in (Assassins Creed Black Flag) but way more options. Like being able to have our guild crest and colors to decorate the sails and having our guild crest carved into the ship's wheel. Thin being able to paint it with paint/ink other players make with a (miller) profession and to be able to buy cannons from an (Engineer or Blacksmith) the options are crazy lol we can also get better or deferent color sails from the (Tailoring) profession.

• Considering we are getting expanded ship content , shipwright profession totally makes sense. Steven the head lead was a big Archeage player , pretty sure custom sails and all will be a thing, to what degree we can customize not sure but the devs seems to want to give lot options for everything when comes to customization.
• That is awesome :) I can't wait to see what Steven and the developers have in store for us. I love how crafting and the economy is a key pillar in AoC and it is not just looked over and tossed to the side.
• Made question
• [quote quote=20442]If you have a ship is the crew going to be other players or can you recruit A.I. to help on your ship?

More likely you will need other players. In Archeage building a ship was a group effort and a community milestone and crewing a ship on the ocean was a great guild group activity.
• A little late here, but I'm looking forward to the possibility of a shipwright crafting profession with gusto! I've wanted a game that lets me do that for a long while. I will say that I'm not hoping its terribly group-oriented, but maybe it would need a dry dock and an NPC workforce that the crafter had to hire to get the boat built. Lots of possibilities with this one!
• Without a doubt! The ability to build boats and ships, and customize them... or even specialize in building PARTS of boats is kind of my dream :) I'd love to have an oceanside workshop where I would have a couple available ships on display for immediate purchase... or I'd also be happy to take a custom order, with a price break if you provide some of the materials :)

But yes... Shipwright artisan class with many specialization :)

I would hope that this would depend on the size and complexity of the boat. Maybe a shipwright can craft a rowboat or small sailboat by themselves but they would need more people if they want to craft a galleon or pirate ship.
• I would love to get a custom ship, I want to make a chef (cause I love cooking) but I would LOVE to have my own customized ship! and might have a secondary character who would build ships.
• Definitely need a trade ship at least! Do we know if there is gunpowder in the game or a magical substitute? It'd be hard to use catapults at sea so I bet they stick with ballistas or some sort of magical weapon.

Maybe a magical flamethrower with a dragon head as the nozzle xD
