Some thoughts for the devs.
So it's a game in dev, early dev too. Thought I'd drop some of my thoughts and opinions on your game.
One of the big things with games especially games like this. You have a target audience. There will be people that show up and say they want a server with PVP, auction house and a pay for convenience/to win cash shop. They'll say make a separate server for those who want it. People can play games how they want more options is good. Why is a pay to win cash shop frowned upon in gaming then? It's an option, you don't have to use it. It'll get more money for the game too.
Not asking for a cash shop and pay to win, it was an example. Everyone's opinion is that opinion, just like my opinion. We have our own perspective and point of view. My suggestion my biggest one, you could say advice to any game developer ever or really anyone doing pretty much anything. Act with purpose and conviction. If you decide your game has PVP and all servers will have it then they should. If you decide no server-wide or multi-server auction house then you don't do it. I would say that would entail when someone asks you, you say we aren't going to do that, you might want to find another game that is targeted for you. No reason to be rude or hateful about it but stick by your convictions. Otherwise near the end of the games life will it end up with the pay to win cash shop and f2p with no sub? I mean the point of business, in the end, is to make money, where does all the stuff you say you won't do come into play when you are laying people off, closing servers, having trouble paying bills, no more money for new content? In the end, what is the depth of your conviction when you say you won't have this or that in a game. Will you send people down the road to another MMO saying we are not going to do this or that? Or we are doing this or that and this way as well.
I'm looking for devs that will stand by what they decide basically. Now the game is in development and you are still deciding stuff fine, good even. Once it's out of dev though and "released" I'd want to see some conviction. If you don't want to waste time responding to every post on the forums asking for say a no PVP server have something on your main site that other forum users and mods can link to on your stances on how this game will be.
I think that is enough on that topic. One more thing before I wander off I guess.
Crafting, I read a thing on crafting in star wars galaxies, which is an MMO I never played. The crafting as they wrote about it sounded amazing. I would like to see even a portion of that carried over into an MMO this one in this instance. https://www.reddit.com/r/MMORPG/comments/2x81hi/please_explain_star_wars_galaxies_crafting/?st=j2jo58uk&sh=4e457c90
Anyways for now you're in dev, listen, make, test, remove, add. Good luck and hope this MMO comes out great. Looking forward to it. Thanks for taking the time reading the long post.
