Metropolis Specialization

Hey all!

I've been recently thinking about the four different types of Metropolis; Military, Divine, Economic, Scientific.

I wanted to theorycraft what they could potentially do and what we have already heard they do, if you have any thoughts or want to say that another idea is amazing go for it!

__________________
Military - Unknown
__________________
Potentially large armies, better siege equipment/defenses
nodewide buffs to fighting stats

__________________
Divine - Unknown
__________________
Potentially contacting the gods to create eternal seasons (like eternal summer or winter) would make an interesting change to the node
nodewide buffs to crafting or other things

__________________
Economic - More ways to trade goods
__________________
buying your way into power
potentially more economic crafting
better trade deals with local node group

__________________
Scientific - Fast travel system
__________________
Better ways for processing

if you have any suggestions for any node please post! Lets make this full of node metropolis specialization ideas!

    Hey Luna :D

So i made a post a while ago about an idea for the usage of the military nodes.
Sort of giving them an additional porpuse.

    This was the post :
Since the exact use of Military nodes isnt yet known and Steven mentioned there will be PvP Arenas why not use those nodes as a social hub for specific PvP Activities . For PvP Arenas and “PvP Events”.

So every military node will host 1 specific Arena Format (with serverwide matchmaking) like :
Capture the Flag, 1vs1 Arena , 3vs3 Arena, Dominance and so on…

And will additionaly host 1 or maybe 2 PvP Events that are different from region to region, that spawn daily or weekly.
This will make the player visit several different Military Nodes for different PvP Activities and experiences.
Those PvP Events sets other players /guilds that joined forces temporary at a different military node as enemy for an objective (at a neutral place ) to fight and compete around.
Winning those Events could effect all the other nodes in range for the military node with bonuses. It also develops the military node further.

I also remember Steven saying that if you want to climb the ladder of society in a military node it should be by fighting, and those Arenas and Events would perfectly provide it.

    Progression:
A city could host larger PvP Events that involve more than only 2 Military nodes

A Metropolis could host tournaments of Arena Formats for example.
    .
    .
    .
Unfortunately i didnt get any feedback though :/
What do you think of this idea?
    Is everything clear?

I really hope different nodes offer unique zone item unlocks.

For example. A Metro Religious VS A Metro Economic in a tropical region VS A Metro Economic in a Mountainous region.

Perhaps the gods teach our leave scriptures for unique crafting blueprint based on Clerical stats, maybe magically or healing based.

The Tropical Metro may offer unique sea based gear, vehicles or items.

The Mountainous Metro doing similar but maybe offering unique mining or delving related gear.

Very basic in concept, the core point is make every different possible Metro offer a different major usable feature or item related to that node.

Interesting theory, it does make sense to break it down in these categories.
Im thinking something along these lines:

Military - node wide buff to physical attack and defense.
Way to power: increase rank by completing military tasks.
Bounty hunting, make siege equipment or attack enemy camps/strongholds.

Divine - node wide buff to magical attack and defense.
Way to power: increase rank by completing tasks for the religion.
Convert people to the religion, punish sinner or expose other 'false' religions.

Economic - reduced taxes in the node, buff to buying and selling items.
Way to power: increase rank by influencing the economy.
Own houses/stores, protect caravan transports or assist merchants.

Scientific - increased resource gathering, more efficient refining and reduced materials required for crafting.
Way to power: increase rank by leveling the artisan skills.
Gather rare materials, find better refining tools or seek ancient blueprints.

A metropolis could also be a combination of these pillars.
For example: 20% military - 10% religion - 40% economic - 30% scientific based on the sources of xp which are completed in the node.

Yeah Everything is clear and I think it's pretty fitting for a military node to be focused on the pvp aspects of the world especially for its leadership to be 'the best of the best fighters'

Now this is pretty awesome, especially if its based on the nodes location as well like a node near a mountain that militaristic might offer siege equipment while a scientific near the water might offer fast travel between it and some other landmass. it makes it unique for even two nodes of the same type which will help a lot for differentiating reasons to be in one or the other!

That would be interesting but it almost wouldn't allow full specialization and it seems like they want each node to be unique in its standing so that other nodes would pick up the slack on other areas if that server even desired that sort of thing.
