Quick Observation and a few comment(s)
New to the site and I'm glad I found this future MMO.
I have played many MMO's going all the way back to Everquest and currently and not playing any MMO's and this one just got my attention.
I could tell from the beautiful graphics that it had to be the Unreal Engine???.. My concern with the Unreal Engine is that it is not idea for MMO's based on the net code. At least that is my understanding. I did see the FAQ's and I hope you folks work out the net code.
I'm a huge fan of eye candy, game play and strategy. The eye candy is there w/ this game- no doubt. Hope to see amazing animation's in terms of sword play and not arcade-ish sword play if you follow what I mean.
I really like the fact that AOC is not trying to cater to one crowd and is trying to be inclusive. For example-I am a fan of solo play and group play. There are times when I like to solo and times when I like to group.
Lastly because I'm starting to ramble: I hope developers with have some commonly known lore that is well know in fantasy realms and not have all new concepts. A mix of new lore and common lore would be great. For example: Everyone knows what a vampire is. I hope there will be an area within the game which has a story around vampires.

Yes, it is using UE4. However, as the devs have talked about multiple times, they have access to the highly-flexible backend and will be able to adapt it to a larger MMO game.

So, a big part of AoC is that the players will create the narrative. While there will be some general game lore (such as the fact that the world is in ruins), I think that it's mostly left pretty blank for the players to discover and create on their own.
