Can you own land (citizenship) to multiple nodes?

I would think no.. For me it looks like each node is = to a faction, but what do I know?

Comments

  • I'd assume you can if you have the money to pay rent for both, but perhaps not. They haven't shed a whole lot of light on this yet.

I was kinda thinking that, but what if one node decides to siege another and you belong to both.
  • Seems like you should be able to if you buy property in multiple cities, but, taxes...etc.
  • You can own one of each type of residence, 1 node house, 1 instanced appartment and 1 freehold. However you can only claim citezenship to one node. You can if you chose spread your residences over 3 nodes.
  • Yes, it is possible to own a house within a Node and even land that you can cultivate for resources. It is one of the main aspects to Ashes of Creation.

A link for that please, PJ?
  • A few Discord quotes-

@Steven will we be allowed to own multiple houses?

    Steven - 01/21/2017
@Seulgi Most likely, still discussing that. It is leaning towards one of each type of housing.
    There are 3 types.</blockquote>

player built houses worry me, in the sense that the world would have to be pretty big or all the land for said houses would get taken up super fast like in archage

    Steven - 04/15/2017
@Zaeithlyn AA had multiple houses allowed per character. We have one plot of land that is account capped, and fits many structures including your home  also AA restricted housing to building zones. Ours are not</blockquote>
Appears to indicate one Freehold for all the characters on you account - not sure if owned by all or just one. Probably would mean an in-town house or apartment would be account bound to one or all of your characters as well - maybe.

So it looks like maybe one of each type, but nothing 'for sure' yet.

Somewhere there is a comment about only being able to be a citizen of one Node at a time - but I think it's a video comment, and darned if I remember which one now. However if Node citizenship is character based you could theoretically have one type of housing in 3 different nodes on 3 characters.

TL;DR answer to thread title question - Yes - maybe?

  • I hope not, last thing we need is someone that knows how to make buku bucks in game and then rents a whole city or something odd like that. 1 seems good, and fair for all.

Now what would be really cool is if they had a couple Guild Halls in each Node kinda like the anime Log Horizon... where you can home a whole guild rather just apartments... would be fitting for a guild focusing on the node kinda like a beacon when outsiders come in to know who runs the city in a way or form.
  • Then can I buy the Node and Banks to prevent others from going into guild or withdraw money, so they will have to listen to my every command too :D hahaha (Like Log Horizon)

Interesting. I thought buying a residence in that node gets you citizenship in that node. How would you spread your residences over 3 nodes without being a citizen on each?

By buying an in-town house on one character in one Node, buying an instanced apartment on another character at a second Node, and buying a Freehold at a third node. 3 properties, 3 ciitizens.

One character would buy an in-town house in a Node, another character would by an instanced-apartment in a second Node, and a third character would place a Freehold in the zone of influence of a third Node. 3 Nodes, 3 citizens.
