Game requirements

Hello,
I am about to upgrade my PC soon...I remember them talking about the minimum requirements of this game. Any idea what are the minimum requirements would be to play all the elements of the game on AT LEAST medium graphics? (including mass PvP, huge towns, raids and all that kind of shiney things :) )
I know most of the MMORPGs, especially the ones without loading screens are pretty CPU heavy. But considering the fact that the game will be using U4 engine...I have no idea how to balance things- my budget is kinda limited.
I'm considering going for an i7 7700K (or amd?) right now.
I have pretty much no idea about hardwares...so any information would be great :)
Thank you!

I dont think they said any specifics...something like" everything built in the past few(4-5?) yearsshould be able to run it" Not sure if those are the minimums to lauch the game...or the minimums to actually play and enjoy it :)
  • If your budget is limited and you can hold off a new build for a while, I'd suggest just waiting till about mid next year, that way we will most likely have the minimum requirements so you can better cater your build and also your budget may increase depending if your good at saving or not.
I say this because i'm in the same boat about upgrading this year but i'm fortunate enough my current PC will hold out for at least another year and also most games that are coming out this year haven't been worth an upgrade(my opinion). But to answer the original question an i7 7700K would be more than enough for ashes based on what steven has said on the subject, sadly I can't find any quotes on it to offer a proper source.
  • If you are a competitive 120hrz+ gamer then the 7700kis nice but for 99% of of gameplay and multitasking/productivity/streaming the r5 1600 represents the best bang for buck CPU currently. as for the GPU just get what is adequete for your resolution/min frame rate.

The GPU is more important for gaming anyway.

As a side note, intel recenty recomends that you don't* overclock the 'K' SCU due to reported temp spikes and there continued use of bird sh!t for thermal interface.
And it recently came to my attention that intel funds/supports Anita Sarkesian's Feminist Frequency,

Currently using a 6700k Myself but will will switch to AMD zen+ and VEGA.

Also remeber that Ashes wont be live for 2 or more years so building specifically now for for it is folly.

4 core CPUs are becoming the minimum along with 4gb VRAM GPUs, with 1080p@60fps still the over 95% current consumer base.
  • for High 120hrz+ refresh rate competitive gaming the 7700K makes sense, even with its bird sh!t thermal interface and now intel recommending that you don't overclock it.

The R5 1600 currency is the best bang for buck all round 6c/12t champ, and the AM4platform which will be supported till 2020+

MMOs typically like more threaded headroom especially during large player dense interactions.

As for gaming 4 core CPU and 4GB VRAM GPU is becoming minimum spec for 1080p gaming.

Though as mentioned no point building specifically for a game that is not even released yet.
  • I missed these excellent answers.... :) Thank you for the info
