Glorious Alpha Two Testers!

Alpha Two Realms are now unlocked for Phase II testing!

For our initial launch, testing will begin on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10 AM Pacific and continue uninterrupted until Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10 AM Pacific. After January 6th, we’ll transition to a schedule of five-day-per-week access for the remainder of Phase II.

AoC Dungeons and Raids Questions

I know this is still very early on in development but I was wondering if AoC has answered any of these questions regarding dungeons and raids.

How many bosses will be in a raid? (Nothing drives me crazier than raids in FFXIV with 1 boss and no trash mobs or anything. 1 and done or will there be 8-12 bosses?)

What will be the group sizes for dungeons, raids and world bosses?

Will city sieges be an organized event or will it just be a free for all cluster f**k

Will dungeons and raids have different difficulty settings or just 1?

Will world bosses literally just be a zerg fest or will they have mechanics? (Every game I know of that has world bosses is just a zerg fest and would like to know how AoC is going to try to change this?)

If certain dungeons and raids will be dependent on the season/node development does this mean some raids and dungeons will only be available for a couple weeks every 2-3 months?

Since season/node development are not level dependent how will scaling work with the dungeons/raids and even activities out in the world. (Will a max level character be forced to run a low level dungeon if dungeon level is depending on node level? Will max level characters be scaled down to lower level party members or vice versa?)

Overall I like the concepts behind this game but alot of them leave me uncertain of how they plan to organize all of these moving pieces.

  • I may be wrong but if i remember correctly
    -I don't think we have any deep information on dungeon and raid content
    -group size: 8
    -raid size: 40
    -There is no limitations on who can a join a siege(to my knowledge) but initiating a siege is a big task and requires a lot of time, effort, and resources.
    -I don't think we have different difficulty settings for dungeons
    -World bosses will have mechanics but they will be open to everyone to my knowledge.
    -Each season only lasts a week but yes, we hear that some dungeons can be closed off for that time..
    -Good question about scaling. We don't know much about scaling yet. It might be that dungeons are designed for more skilled adventurers(higher level) and/or we don't scale as much vertically as we level.
  • Group size of 8 pretty much makes all classes compulsory.
    Raid of 40 had to be a mutiple of 8 simply is a force mutiplyer.
    You may well need to work on 5 quest streams in parallel.
    Depends how thta raid is composed.
    40 of any class type or 5 groups
