Can I be 5 o'clock Charlie?
This spawned from a discussion with my wife on the concept of sieges taking a lot of effort to destroy something that took a lot of effort to built.
And then I thought 'what if one guy rolled up with a catapult every day, how many months would it take to equal the effort it took to build' which then quickly devolved into me wanting to be 5 o'clock Charlie.
<em>Imagine.</em>

Imagine there's a guy.
Same time every day, shows up with his lone catapult. And he always misses his target, so your town starts taking bets on if he'd hit something. It becomes a social event.
<img src="http://namtab.com/mash/SSN02_26charlie.gif" alt="Oh there's Charlie again, five gold says he hits the bell tower this time" />
He never does much damage. One day he catapults a cow. Even when he gets a boat and loads a canon on it and starts attacking from sea, it amounts to nothing that can't be repaired quickly.
And when asked why he's so persistent at attacking the town, he was quoted as saying 'I just really dislike the color scheme, and honestly whoever did the street design was smoking something. I mean that road there goes nowhere.'

Mage Mondays
Even one man against a caravan will probably be insignificant - NPCs would probably absorb the damage of one avatar and the caravan would not be destroyed.
It takes weeks to months for a large group of players to successfully pull off a siege - much of that is capturing strategic locations within a town/city/metropolis. And includes destroying enough caravans that the town/city/metropolis can't make repairs.
You have to declare a siege days to weeks in advance and prevent the town/city/metropolis from their days and weeks of prep against a siege... which is intended to be against a large group.
One person could try to damage every day - but there will be a city full of people repairing that damage every day.
But, showing up every day to attack a city even if there is insignificant damage is great RP!!
And I imagine there will be players who hate fast travel enough that they will show up everyday to try to shut down the fast travel network in a Science Metropolis.
Seems like especially the nodes of the Underrealm should have an equivalent feature that other nodes perceive as threatening. Same for specific Divine nodes... especially depending on the specific religion of the Metropolis.
