Locked Gender Race?

In recent times I've seen the trend of men playing female classes only. I am not one of those people however and would like to play a male character with freedom in my class/race choice. Does anyone know if the game will support that?

    Classes are not gender locked.

    The devs at Intrepid have stated, emphatically, that there will be no "gender-racial-class" locks, in game.

    Races, and sub-races, will have differing features, that make them distinct from one another. But, players can choose to be any combination of race, gender, or class.

    So good, like other games where a class is gender specific. Its so awefull.

    There are no gender or race locks. it'll make classes harder to balance for sure, but again, you can't get something for nothing.

    I believe they've said that stats are based on race, so for min-maxers, there will probably be BiS races to pick for each class.

    Thats nice to read. I realy hated that in many games you have the gender lock and forced to play a certain race / gender.

    I am also against gender lokt races , i meen i am a guy that sometimes plays female (i allweys worn peeps araund that i am a guy ) and the reason is : what is more sexi then a hot lady wilding a huge sword ( or in mi case at this point in swtor a huge asault canon ) ?

    A Vaelune human male would have the same perks as a Vaelune human female, afawk. There hasn't been anything said about whether gender will have an effect on anything (besides from looks). Personally, I think it shouldn't.

    I don't really care if guys play female toons or females play guy toons. Who really cares when what matters is the skills they bring to the pvp battleground or the dungeon or raid.

    A Vaelune human male would have the same perks as a Vaelune human female, AFAWK. There hasn't been anything said about whether or not gender will affect anything (besides looks). Personally, I think it shouldn't. I wouldn't want to have the majority of a race be female or male just for perks.
