Guild Cap Limits

I would love to see a guild cap limit on how many can be created.... Like in many other games mass amounts of guilds are created and then as the game dies, It punishes the people who are still playing by tying down a name they would like to use because they are a dead guild. I understand there will be a lot of people and probably a lot of guilds, but there should be a time limit due to inactivity to free up a name someone who is more active would like to use. With no cap on how many it thins out the recruitment for guilds to gain new members and everyone spams to recruit.

Comments

  • I wouldn't cap the number of guilds.

I would just require each guild to have a minimum number of people inside.

For example, there can't exist a guild with 2 people.
Just find some reasonable minimum number required to establish the guild.

If during game play member number (of existing guild) drops below this minimum, freeze guild assets and guild activity options until guild can grow over this minimum number again.
  • I doubt they'll cap the number of guilds (maybe even number of players per guild, or minimum per guild). They seem to be all about player choice. If someone wants to run around as a solo with a guild tag, why not.
  • Why not come up with a unique name that no one else would use?
  • Like u said, if the game dies, it dies xD simply.

    So no reason for that.
  • and i thought this was about a guild member cap.

I can see why someone wants some guild names to be freed after a time of non usage. But what if the people of a big guild made a departure to a new game and test that out for a few months, but in the end return only to see a 5 man guild using their name?

Not to mention that guild names can carry big reputation. What if you happen to choose the name of an old gank guild. people who still remember that guild will just think that damn gangkers are back.

So, no i don't think guild names should free up again.

about the cap on guilds...... eh i don't see why they should do it. If we limit the amount of guilds then we may get into a scenario of no new guilds, which for new players leaves only 2 options, remain guildless or join one of the guilds, which in turn could create huge faceless guilds were people don't know each other really
  • @Seashell I understand why you would want a guild cap, but I think that setting a strong set of requirements would be a better way to go.

Maybe you can have "clans" and "gangs", depending on the size. If a group has a larger amount of people, they have priority over the name, but if the smaller group has had it for a decent amount of time, they could have the option to keep it... idk, just throwing stuff out there. lol
