Obstacle Courses and Fun Events

How fun would it be to have obstacle courses where you would have to get through some puzzle such as a maze or jumping on floating rocks and find some kind of reward at the end? GW2 was pretty good at making this fun in my opinion, it was interesting to have options such as turning on switches, choosing different paths, and avoiding traps, while having to kill monsters on the way, etc.
If this were to be implemented, what would you like the reward(s) to be? it could be anything from a rare boss to a chest of gold and crafting materials. We could have a party work together or compete with others if it's out in the open and not instanced, or in a rare obstacle course that's available only for certain events. And the reward(s) could be different every time and spawn at different times?

Heres one that I saw in GW2: There was like a big tree and at some point an event with mob waves + boss happened, once you killed the boss a bunch of rock kinda made a staircase around the tree. If you parkoured up that staircase and didn't fall, then you could collect a treasure chest at the top :)
Another one that I've been thinking about for some time:
You have a 3D cube that changes like the Maze in Mazerunner, basicly a gigantic Rubics cube (or like the movie "The cube" or "THe room", something like that). In the cube theres rooms a bunch of random rooms, some are easy, some are hard, some have mobs some dont etc. In each room theres a clue on how to navigate the maze and in the middle theres a boss room or treasure chest. Writing this it seems more like a dungeon though ;)
Crafting materials, awesome-sauce! (:

Yeah, I had to think of 'Guild Wars 2' fractals. They are randomly selected. But great idea nevertheless, a dungeon featuring this system would be great!

Woah woah, you dont think thats a bit OP?

hahaha legendary weapons for the winners.
na pve events should have pve rewards, have a rare mount or something instead :P

Sadly as @BraneGames mentioned in your other post, flying mounts are very limited in the game :( But some sort of "gliding puzzle" might be fun, since gliding mounts are much more common.
If a content is plausible within the world Lore, then yes i am all for it but simply having FAKE non related content would turn me away.
Before reading the post i somehow knew this was a GW2 idea and i don't like GW2 design what so ever.Once you start crossing the line on immersion where does it stop, pink cows flying through the air, rocket launchers for weapons, springy shoes so players can bounce up to mountain tops?Yes i have to sometimes mention the extreme to get a point across,i am not looking for silly gaming but again immersive gaming.
I am hoping that so far this studio is finally giving us CHOICE a game that is not trying to be other games silly ideas.I cannot stress it enough>>>IMMERSION is what this genre badly needs.

[/quote]Why not have both? If one doesn't like something such as these kinds of events then one doesn't need to participate in it, simple. As much as I love immersion, a little bit of something different and not related to the lore won't hurt my experience, in my opinion. It is a "game" after all. But if you insist, as long as it's immersive and we enjoy it is what matters.
And initially the idea of obstacle courses for me sparked from world of warcraft private servers. Then thought of GW2 :P
I can understand why some people wouldn't like an out of immersion puzzle or events and extra character accessories that dosent make sence to the game world.. it just throughs you off.
BUTT..in the same sence having extra creative side things to do keeps the game from being stale and add an extra layer for the casuals. Now if its done right these events and platform puzzels could be integrated into the world where its more organic instead of being out of place.
AoC could bring thier own creative flair by creating dungeons with platform type puzzles, riddles, and what have you.
