We are a EU-based, PvX, PvP-focused, Hardcore mercenary Guild. Founded by both myself, and @Noxion.
We're mostly situated in Europe, but don't let that stop you, if you're from outside of Europe, but happy to deal with the ping; we're happy to take you into our ranks.
We've got two branches within the Phoenix Guard.
The core. Our core will consist of our fundamental members; you will be our PvPers, our committed, our loyal, our active members. You will be the forefront of our pride, our sword that strikes, and our backbone of our community. This is not for the faint of heart, we want people who care about their gear, we want people who are willing to kick some ass. We want people who strive to be the best that they can be, and who want to exceed their own boundaries, while knowing their limitations. To join this branch, we would like to know a bit about you, your experience in other Guilds, as well as your experience in other MMOs, preferably games where you played a PvP role, we'd love to hear your stories. Those who are the seekers of glory, those who want to make a name for themselves, those who want to be known for their heroics during that daring defence, or the ones rushing through those walls as they came crashing down; this is your branch. This is your opportunity. This is your Guild.
Our secondary branch, is what we call the Artisan branch. Though not our core, you will be respected for what you bring to the table. This branch is for the dedicated craftsmen, the laid back, the PvEers. Your style is up to you, all we need from you, is your loyalty. Know that your crafts will contribute to the continuation, and the progression of the Phoenix Guard. Blacksmiths, your crafts will be valued, as they are tried and tested by our ranks. Lumberjacks, your skills will be needed for the construction of our homes, our holds, and perhaps to assist your fellow craftsmen in their trade. Traders, you will be fundamental in ensuring that we can assist our allies, in any way that we can. But these are just a small handful of trades within AoC, know that you will all be valued, and respected members of the Phoenix Guard.
In either branch, our ideal member would be at least 18 years old, and mature. We make exceptions for younger players, if their maturity is deemed acceptable.
So, our goals:
Short-term, we are going to be offering a multitude of services to other Guilds, and alliances. We will be conducting the following:
The defending, or sacking of caravans.
Providing defense, or the besieging of towns, cities, or metropolises.
We will be defending mines, or, we'll be wiping them out.
We also provide personal escorts, for individual people, or groups.
The general idea is that we have a unique contract system in place within our Guild. An outside Guild will be able to come to us, tell us what they need, and we will charge them for it. The people on that contract, get a slice of the pay. This gives you, as a member of our Guild, the unique position of choosing your battleground. If you feel like taking it chill, and decide to escort another Guild's caravan to safety, or if you feel like letting all Hell break loose, and want to participate in a siege; you can check out our available, ongoing contracts, and choose.
Of course, if we need extra hands to ensure the success of a contract, we will call upon people to participate, and you will be expected to join.
Long-term;
We are open to Alliances with other Guilds, and would like to either hold a city, or metropolis of our own, as a leading political party. With this, we will turn the city/metropolis into a militaristic node. But, we are not tyrants; we will tax our citizens fairly, for it is the citizens, who make the node what it is. For what is a metropolis, if it's empty?
If this is not obtainable, for whatever reason, or if the situation is more favourable: Our Plan B will be to provide an exclusive security service to a particular city, or metropolis. In return for our unwavering support, and loyalty, we will expect to be given space for our members to grow. This includes, but is not limited to; land within the node (such as mansions), as well as freeholds. As well as an income from the guild holding the node, to ensure that our members are paid fairly.
If you have any questions, please contact either myself, or @Noxion here, on this thread.
Or you may even come and contact us on our Discord: https://discord.gg/hU3HuBP
You're free to type, or talk to any of us, at your leisure.
A side note to other Guilds checking this out:
As mentioned above; we're open to alliances. We don't want to get involved in massive alliances, and keeping our diplomatic links as few as possible, as is the nature of our services, I'm sure you can understand.
We're happy to open talks with any Guild, regardless of your stance, and I'm sure we can work something out.
If you're interested, please visit our Discord (linked above), and contact either myself, or @Nox#9325 (@Noxion on the forum).
We, here at the Phoenix Guard hope that you've enjoyed reading through our recruitment post, and please do not hesitate to contact us.
If you feel that you're on the fence, don't fret. We have a forum being constructed right now, that we'll add to this post in a little bit. There, we will elaborate further on all the points listed above, and will also give you your personal space to contact us there, as well, if need be.
Thank you,
From both, myself, and @Noxion. Co-founders of the Phoenix Guard.
Hi! And thanks for asking, that's a great question.
In situations like that, I would then propose an auctioning system, the highest bidder will be the one that has our services. Of course, the higher the price, the better our service will be.
It's worth mentioning that we will try nothing short of perfection when working for a client, or an ally. But, we're not going to send out one guy if you're going to spend half of your entire Guild's treasury, know what I mean? You have to get your money's worth, and we aim to meet that.
Heya,
Super happy that you like our concept!
The end goal is to be self-sufficient, enough to carry out whatever we're aiming for, without having to rely on others. And hopefully, in the long run, to be able to trade off our excess.
I think we're all pretty hyped to see where this all goes in the future! :)
Nice to see that you are interested! We do accept members that are under 18, given a certain maturity level, so please head on over to our Discord and have a chat with us! :D You'll find the link above!
As for your questions:
Yes we are indeed primarily a PvP-guild - but I want to make a disclaimer: We are not planning to grief, troll, or otherwise torment anyone in-game. We are not a band of brigands and thieves. We plan to follow a contract system where-in people can hire us for protection (or maybe for an attack as you allude to later).
Now, with regards to extending our services to participate in events (PvE-related or otherwise) we will participate in these if it serves the interest of Phoenix Guard- and / or possible allies. We do prefer to call ourselves a PvX-guild for that reason. It just so happens that due to the very nature of this game, the players are both protagonists and antagonists at the same time.
Concerning your dilemma as described- there are a lot of variables to consider, that we are currently working on a system that can help us with situations like the one you describe. Some of it we are only able to theorize on at the moment, because we simply don't know enough about the game yet (currency values, etc.). Is there a contract system in game already? Or do we make one of our own? - At the moment we are currently working on our very own Contract system, that includes everything from potential prices (working on making an equation for this) as well as a payment-system. We are also working on a Loyalty System so that our returning costumers enjoy benefits from continuing our employment. And who knows? They may eventually become an ally.
I hope this answers your questions, I hope it was not too long a read! But we take this guild and this game seriously - and we are committed to have as much fun as possible in the coming time! Thanks for your questions! Please join us on Discord for a chat mate! :D
I really like the idea/consept you guys came up with for the Guild.
But do you actually think there will be guilds asking for your service, they can do it them self right? As example a guild can defend there own caravans or attack a caravan, why would they hire Pheonix Guard? They lose some of the gameplay and action then right?
Heya! And thanks for the great question!
I personally believe that Guilds will need our services, one way or another. Not every Guild in the game will be liked, some will be fighting alone, and would like a few extra hands. Some Guilds may be smaller, and don't have the men to defend their own caravans. And I would like to think that's when we step in.
They do, indeed, lose out on some of the action, but nothing stops them from coming along with us, if they so wish. And in the situations of, say, a siege, I would like to think they'd be participating, too!
This may also be a major benefit for other Guilds, such as primarily RP, PvE, or trade-based Guilds, which may not have the gear, or the people to take on someone who's pushing them around. We'll be the ones evening out that battlefield.
I hope that answers your question, if you'd like me to elaborate, at all, please do let me know.
I enjoyed reading your recruitment post here on the forums and glad to find that much of what you aim for lines up with what I personally am looking to do within AoC, in particular your long term goals.
I also like how you seem to be organising your guild in such a way that whilst your "core" will be more hardcore you still have a part of the guild that weill be less hardcore based in that of the artisan branch.
I must admit whilst I enjoy PvP as much as the next person I am not the best at it and both branches have aspects that I find appealing.
Consider me sold, sir!
Where do I sign?
