Greetings from Texas friends!
Looking to form a new guild for AoC, no time like before the present begins! Currently we have no name, as naming a guild is quite possibly the most important thing the guild will ever do, and should be a group process. I'm looking for friends to come gather around the fire, kick out names, banner ideas, colors, and generally discuss how we should effect the world! I'll bring the marshmallows and hot dogs, you bring the ideas!
Our guild isn't expected to have a single focus, but dabble in a range of activities. I find a guild works best if it can be self-sustaining, which means we need crafters, gatherers, those that hunt monsters, and those that protect our interests from rivals. In other words, we will raid, do PvP, and do all the underlying activities needed to support both. Additionally in the past I have personally run "RolePlay" guilds, and strongly enjoy running RP centric events. What is an RP centric event you ask? It could be anything! For example, our guild crafters need to transport goods from town A to town B, and engage a caravan to do so. As an RP event, we have a large showing of the guild participate in escorting the caravan. This is a show of force to the rest of the world, a securing of our crafters interest, and an open social RP event. As we go along we engage in open world chat while staying in character "caravan, look out! Goblins to the rear!" , random banter between ourselves, and anyone we pass by. A little effort makes things interesting, and fun.
The guild will be run primarily by a single guild leader, with the support of an officer council that will have specific roles. The size of leadership will depend on the size of the guild. Obviously a guild of 30 takes less to manage than 300. In the past I have had the following roles for the leadership team:
GM
Executive Officer
Raid Lead (one per raid team)
Warmaster (PvP lead)
Event Lead
RP Lead
For myself I have had guild success in games as ancient as Ultima Online, to more recent titles like WoW and KoToR. I have always tried to have a relaxed, mature environment that people can honestly feel like part of the family, and have their own personal niche. Not everyone is a raider or crafter, but each has a home here, and will receive an equal level of support. When running the guild, my general policy is to have an environment that you wouldn't be embarrassed to show your mother, but still feels a bit like Cheers because everyone knows your name. Nobody likes a mega guild that recruits constantly just to hit the max player count, but nobody knows each other. In AoC player choice matters, therefore guild direction matters. How can your choice matter if nobody knows you?
If you have an interest in forming a team of mature players (age doesn't matter, attitude does), or even if you just wanted me to know you made it through reading this long post, please get back to me! If you plan to have character name XxxXBoobJokexxX, or similar please don't bother applying. This guild might never be server first to down whatever raid, but we can always be the first name that comes to mind when people ask "What guild do you respect most?".
Happy to meet you all!
Viktor
P.S. If you've already seen this posting, i apologize, it was originally created / eaten by the old forums, and nobody i know can see / find it.

I'm already in one that started on the forums and we are having a blast already so I wish you all the success aswell!
Thanks for the friendly words! Already having some interest / success. I'm really looking forward to how things turn out. The community forming around ashes is really great.
To anyone interested you can reply here, PM me, or message me on discord. I'm ViktorBelmont#4339 on there. I'm more than happy to speak with everyone!

Play from the ship! Cruises come with WiFi now, just take your laptop. Can't be hitting the buffet all the time now can you? Even if you aren't going to play right away, i'm more than happy to hear from you. Always good to make a new friend or two. I actually have a few people that won't be joining the guild until the game actually launches, so that's a ways out.

So,
additional information for those that are interested. I wanted to take a moment to clarify some of the direction of the guild. While most things are still TBD, as I would like to discuss them as a group, a basic direction is already in place. The most basic ideas is of the "White Hat" guild variety. We aren't out to cause problems or grief, just take care of our own, and help police the population. We have multiple members that are interested in the bounty system, as the idea of laying down the law on griefers is very appealing.
The main theme of the guild is respectability. That means not being a jerkweed to your fellow guildies, or to your server neighbors. Don't mistake that for meaning push overs or anything like that. Just because we're the "good guys" doesn't mean we won't take it to you like Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday. I'll be your huckleberry anytime, anywhere. It just means that player personality and interaction is the most important thing to us. While we have the goal of being the top guild on our server, running our favorite node, and being home to the very best crafters, all the "gameplay" aspects are secondary. The primary focus is on not being a crappy person, and having the most fun we can.
Right now Ashes hasn’t launched, and the community is where the focus is. I want my guild to be around to help make our community the best it can, and then I want to transfer our community presence to our chosen server. I hope everyone finds the guild you’re looking for, and until then, I’ll see you in ashes discussion on discord!
Viktor
So June funding has started, and I hope everyone is able to take advantage of it!
See you on discord!
Viktor
I am interested in joining your guild, however I have not role played before. I've been active on Lotro for many years, but am looking for a different game to establish myself in, as well as a good group of guild members to game with. Please respond if you have read my post, and if there is a way to be invited to your guild, let me know!
Much appreciated,
Carllee
Let me know,
I have lots of experience in MMOs both being a casual member all the way up to leader. I tend to focus on PVE games, but hoping to also enjoy PVP and crafting in AoC. I've been playing MMOs for almost 16 years...starting with FFXI which was a strong teamwork-oriented game. I've not done much in the RP arena, but have great respect for RP'ers and always respect their activities.
Would love to get more info on the guild. Let me know if you'd like to chat on website, Discord, etc.
