Hi, I was thinking if this game will have first person view and VR support? I think it would be amazing to have the option for VR and FPV on an MMO!

Hi, welcome to our community! Nice to have you around. Check the Discord out! It's super busy there >.<

On First Person view I can agree on but VR, ah, no. We're just not there yet. VR's 'benefits' will be outweighed by its limitations. Furthermore not everyone has a VR setup, yeah, I know - they are on the rise and everything is becoming more and more affordable but now, nah.

Are you also hoping for a VR setup similar to Sword Art Online? ;) If this game can deliver what Steven wants to achieve I also wouldn't mind the missing logout button :D
i dont think that the VR tech we have currently available would do this game justice

haha that will be awesome but no, the occulus rift isnt the greatest until we get a better of controlling the character like this and maybe full tactile suit like this thoose things are out now but they cost ridiculous amounts of cash until they come down in price and more people can afford them i dont think we will see decent VR in games that much

But despite all this cool VR stuff, I can't imagine AoC working properly in a VR setting. The game would have to be in first person, and the combat would probably have to be more action based to be immersive in VR. Also, .. I will not play a VR MMO unless it forces everyone to be in VR. waaaay too significant of a disadvantage for the players in VR vs the players who will not be in VR.
Good point! There would be pros&cons either having a VR-setup or not!
We're simply not there yet, also, something like Sword Art Online (worst Anime ever, and the Light Novel, oh Lord, never read so much crap, no offense though) is basically impossible as things are now.
We would need multiple sensors, tracking systems / 'a gaming room' - in short, for it to work somewhat decently. Furthermore, processing power / internet connection / godly PING, yeah - I doubt that most people have acces to these prequisites! Besides, that wouldn't even be the biggest problem. 'MM' in MMO. 'Massive multiplayer', that is just not possible. Regardless of how godly your setup is, frame drops occur, especially in super big boss battles and cities, places where a lot of people are. So, running constantly at 90s FPS, yeah, with all the effects going on - pretty unlikely! In VR everything has to run smooth or you won't have fun playing it. Since we're talking Action Combat, VR won't work. You don't want any lag, FPS drops. You will feel nauseous fairly quickly.

Okay, the same thing please in fully 3D rendered graphics, motions, effects, animations.. :P
I see where you are going with this idea / concept. Do I think VR is the future? - hell yeah. But is the future 'now', not so much. As stated above, yes - it works, but does it also work in a Open World game with multiple players, effects, shadows, all those nice graphical extras? I dare say, it does not.
