Discussion - On Guilds
I'm so stoked guys, everyone here has absolutely been brimming with positivity. So many great ideas too. I hope Intrepid is reading in and liking them.
Let's talk about guilds now.
I love that there will be guild leveling system. My friends and I typically play as a small guild making friends along the way, but I love when a game implements something like this. It gives me a channel to contribute to the guild through my normal gameplay.
What are some of your favorite guild-related features and what new ideas do you have that will take guilds in MMOs to the very next level?

I think this is great because I love small close know guilds working together to beat a Zerg.
Then we all have a beer!
A guild has to give me a good reason to join them and I'll hide the chest of cosmetics so they have to offer better benefits to the guild.
I'd suggest this be implemented as a tiered guild benefit that first unlocks when a guild qualifies for a guild hall. It should be obtainable through difficult quests and crafting along with significant monetary investment.
Each tier of guild housing would unlock the accomodation for each rank in the guild, ranging from shabby, rough hewn quarters right up to the opulent residences of the guild leadership, and of course the palatial keeps of the king/queen in guild castles.
Player housing will be prohibitively expensive for new players, so I think this will help in that regard. There will of course be slumlords!
So a small guild might get guild bonuses to other effects faster while a larger guild might have to spend their first few progression points on increasing capacity.
I'm hoping it's the latter and alliances can decide on their own alliance leaders etc, allowing for small guild to band together like in the idea you shared.
Mostly I love having a small community in which I know everyone very well ^^ I love completing challenges with small guilds and just having fun xD I don't mind if we are not top of the leader board but aslong as we are tops for fun that's all I care about xD
i enjoy alliances aswell and look forward to see how intrepid will introduce alliances in Ashes
Remember me when you make alliances :P
So reading through the stuff you guys have posted here, I'm even more stoked....
Really want to be a slum landlord though....
Like a giant crypt for a guild hall? That won't be creepy at all.
Definitely doesn't seem to be the case. You actually need to plan/spend guild progression points to increase your guild capacity to take in more members.
Small guilds won't have to waste progression points on capacity and can move on to the fun stuff quicker. I was super excited when I heard that, and quickly made plans to reform the Bandit Lords of Baubbleshire.
I'm definitely all in for guild leveling @Cyreph. Heh heh.
