Children and family as NPCs

It would be perfect to have, let's say a NPC family, perhaps five members. Some folks to come home to, to protect. It would be cool to have a NPC child, that would grow. Or some other small squad. What bothers me in many mmporpgs is the fact that my character is rootless, no home and no family.

I'd worry they'd get slaughtered in a siege!

*flash backs* NOOOOOOOO get off them you ******** take me instead
  • Although this is true, I don't think it's necessary, but I guess it would be a nice alternative for those that don't want lonely freeholds xD
You could just invite me round for a brew or ale xD
  • I don't think I could overcome the feeling of coming home to find someone has PK'd my child NPC. I think I'd rather stay in the tavern :) I wish you all the best with getting Intrepid to implement your suggestion if you like that kind of RP. :)
  • The idea is great, but I'd have to agree with the others about the implications. Unless of course the family NPCs were unkillable somehow, maybe.
  • If they are giving you presents like in Fable 3 hahaha.
  • Sounds interesting though I think it might end up like a thousand ways to die
