Treasure Hunting / Quests linked to Historical Events

It is too easy to follow the steps of others online nowadays by a quick wiki check, youtube video etc.

Just a thought, if to keep some treasure hunts/quests solvable for only a few and/or the collective perhaps dialogue, and hence location/solution/sequencing were procedural linked to a node's historical events, then perhaps the problem solving would require historical, community and/or local knowledge.

Dates, player names from actions, events integrate into the dialogue for the quest

A reward for those that know the game and what goes on,?

Comments

  • At first everything is going to feel fresh, and new, and exciting. Given a year, I think every deviation of each node and their quests will be discovered between all the servers.
  • Also, servers are going to be different just based on how the Node system works. It's entirely possible no 2 server will even have the same quests available. This will cut down quite a bit of ability to rely on guides and walk throughs.

It will still happen but I don't see it as being something that I'm going to lose sleep over.
  • Agreed, I was thinking more from mid, to longer term whereby nearly everything is known to the experienced player.

Creating a rare set of infrequent repeatable quests that the story and/or solution are linked to the very players themselves actions was the idea to keep them fresh and challenging.
