[Information] Trade

Everything in this thread is subject to change as and when new information is released during the upcoming months. I’m a single dwarf and gathering this information and pulling together takes time so *gives a jug of ale* be patient!

This is not a discussion thread! This is information that I’ve collected from Streams (still to catch up with more). Discord answers still need to be added and more threads on various topics to come (like Trade/Leveling/Gear etc)! I'm working hard! I'm aware documents exist already but wanted something for the forums!

In each node there will be market place stalls (predetermined buildings) that increase in quantity as the node develops- so can become a very large market.

You are able to rent these stalls out (can can rent for longer if logging off)-  which is customised with the theme of the item you are selling e.g pots - alchemy potions will appear on the stall as decor.

In the marketplace zones (where all these stalls are located) there is a billboard (one for all) that displays a list of items that are being sold within the market stalls. If you click on the billboard item you desire it will show you a location of a stall for you to visit.

Due to the trade system and map design - each node will have a variety of localised produce so if you need something specific - you may need to travel to another node to find the product you need.

There is the possibility of a metropolis economic node to have a city auction house but will be only for the items within that node (and again products on here will be localised produce so metropolis location will be important).

Things like repairs and equipment enchantment can be done at player made stalls

As for gold bots intrepid stated that as they are developing Ashes of Creation security is always on their mind so rather than applying defence at last minute it's part of their core development so security should be strong against bots and gold sellers.

Regional trading exists (between zones) and in some cases regional caravan trading is needed in order to progress within the game and also for crafting certain items.

Regions will have more/less of certain resources giving reason for trade/conflict between nodes in order to gain/exchange resources. How it’s achieved is down to the player.

Caravan Trading is part of the risk/reward experience and passing players have the option to Attack/Defend/Ignore your caravan.

Caravans are needed for taking large quantities of goods from one node to another.

  • another great post Diura
  • Great post. Well worded, well thought out, and well planned. Thanks for the information, I didn't get to thoroughly watch all the streams.
  • Caravans.....can.....not.....wait.......Thank Diura!!
  • @Diura I know how much work you put into these. You are providing a truly awesome resource for the community.
  • Hmm, Trade is the only thing I'm honestly not sold on with Ashes.  It sounds too similar to the system from FFXIV, which was one of the things that was moaned about most.  (in FFXIV you had retainers who would be in market wards)

It's the only thing that I honestly hope they change in the future.
  • This is awesome. Thanks @Diura, you are awesome as well.

I'm honestly quite stoked about this game.
  • I will trade you 2 dwarven slaves for 4 monster coins
