Greetings! Im Kue~

Hi everyone!

Kuebiko here! But i go by Kue! Im a veteran player of BDO, but got tired of the graphic pop in, RNG cancer and most recently server stability issues and the devs lack of communication. Intrepid studios is a breath of fresh air that ive been waiting for. I have my faith in these devs  <3

This community is incredible! Im not new to forums and coming from the hate and toxic filled forums of BDO this place is great! I cant wait to enjoy experiences In AoC! For now my only concerns are the combat but mainly tab targeting as im not a fan of it and would prefer a more skill based system. BDO nailed the combat system minus class balance so i would love this to be the cream of the crop  :D

Until then i will be quietly stalking the streams and youtube until December!

Welcome to the forums @Kuebiko :)

I agree totally! The texture pop is really immersion breaking in BDO. It's even worse than WoW. Luckily Intrepid are using the Unreal Engine 4, which has been highly optimized over a long time.

I've never seen this problem in other UE4 games with pretty complex or large maps, like PUBG or Paragon, so I'm fairly confident we won't see this in Ashes.
  • I think ye'll like it around here, @Kuebiko !

The most toxic thing you'll find around here right now is just @Krojak 's love and admiration - and that's only because it quickly turns a bit creepy!  But don't worry, his heart is in the right place! ( @Nagash's clutches)  As long as you have your immunization shots, you'll be golden!  Bawha!
  • Welcome to the AoC forums & community! I played BDO, but not much, its so much grinding :c
  • @Yuukie Oh yea the grind is intense, got to 58 but that was as high as i could go. Btw i love your image/banner!

Yeah, I loved the character customization though. And thank you! c: I made it with photoshop
  • Welcome! I'm new here as well, and I couldn't agree with you more about the BDO community, played there only for a month and had to take a cold shower every time I logged off  :/ In contrast the community here seems so nice
  • Welcome @Kuebiko! Unfortunately, my country's region locked from BDO so my only experience with the game was in the Taiwan servers and my command of the Chinese language, while serviceable,  certainly wasn't fluent enough to play the game smoothly. Heh heh.

    Where are you from?
  • @Kuebiko
Don't worry about the combat, It will be a hybrid system. It will still be skilled base, doges, iframes, ect. With the small amount of abilities compared to other tab targeting games it will give more meaning to when and how you use your abilities.

I loved BDO's combat system until i figured out how much of a spam fest it was.
  • Welcome to the community!

  • Welcome! As Elder mentioned, the hybrid system of combat should still allow for a degree of player skill to be involved. But, I know what you mean. Combat is a huge part of a game, so I also hope they get it right. It's almost as important as the node system for me but not quite to the same level.
  • Welcome!! Hope you stick around!

Oh yea the spam was atrocious. Especially wizards class, just spam 3 abilities = win.
I look forward to the hybrid system like alot of people are mentioning. I think it will make grinding more pleasant
  • I don't know that it's possible to follow the development of this game and learn about it while still remaining toxic. people here are incredibly kind!!! I'm new too so i was actually surprised by it as well btu people are very willing to answer any questions and join in on discussions or polls.

Well said, I was a bit taken aback at how kind and helpful the whole community is. It gives me high hopes for the future.

  • Welcome best girl!
See you saying that made me think that there's some kind of translation of @Kuebiko 's name that I was missing, but all I found was that  [Ku ebiko] is Kurdish for [That vehicle]

There is nothing good to be made of this knowledge other than a lot of innuendos and puns, so instead I will plump up the plush cushions of the quiet forum corners so you can be comfortable during your happy silent watching.

    Welcome :)

  • A very warm welcome, fellow traveler! I surely hope this community may stay as fresh and friendly as it is today. I've rarely felt this welcomed in any other forum.
