Cheering from the side lines over the summer sale event
So do you keep all promises no matter what the cost? Picture a world that lived by that. As imperfect people we make mistakes, even in our good will of making promises. Steve set up the KS with the mind set to make us happy in backing IS. Later he saw a problem that needed to be addressed. He posted he made a mistake and would correct it. He did the right thing in breaking his promise to show all fans of the game they mattered. Not just people who had a credit cards. This is the kind of game company I like to follow. Willing to make things right, even when they have to take a little mud in the face. I am cheering on the side line over this action and hope they keep walking in the same direction. They won me over a little more with this.

Do I think this was handled the best it could have?
No.
Do I think Intrepid did this with the intent to "false advertise" and "defraud" it's players?
No.
Do they deserve this kick back from people over the semantics of the word "Exclusive"?
Hell no.
with a background in multi layer marketing.
I too want to play the MMO were all waiting for.
But i do not appreciate being played by a studio making that MMO on an initial promise that was compromised.
Intrepid studios deserve the mud in the face, they are being backed by a dedicated group of players who have been promised that* MMO on multiple occasions only to result in failure.
the 3.2mill success and bragging rights of the kick starter campaign were attributed to its use of exclusivity and a core audience with already crushed hopes lying in wait.
I kick started without a credit card...
I respect your ability of inclusiveness towards the funding support of ashes of creation.
And i hope for the success of the project too.
however when you have sustained a few black eyes and scars from previous that* MMO projects, and have witnessed their demise, you too will scrutinize and hold account to semantics, palette shifts and an early focus on cash shop pap.
I didn't just throw money at a hope and a dream this time.
I invested in a project that might be the last true MMO faithful to the genre.
let's all hope it's not another "Emperors new clothes" situation.
