Any plans for steam after release?

Does anyone know if the dev's have any plans to have this game on steam?  I did a search on these forums for the keyword "steam" with no dice. :'(:'(

  • Forum search function is currently not working.

No mention of Steam as of yet
  • I got no results when searching for dwarves... I was mildly excited ;)
  • ah, that would make sense, because I never find anything lol
  • They stated in one of the Q&A videos that Ashes would NOT be on Steam. Look at Q&A 10 on up, can't remember which one it was exactly.
  • The game does not even need to be on Steam. Steam seems like a graveyard for games and I personally don't get the obsession. Just like people seem to be obsessed with consoles.

It is not an obsession at all.  Many people (myself included) have many friends that use steam, and it has a rather large community, it is not a graveyard for games.  The reason I brought up Steam is exposure to a larger community of gamers to include friends.  That is all
  • I get most of my games on steam now. I think its quite good. I don't think it would do ashes of creation any harm to be on it at all.
  • Even if Ashes doesn't need to be on Steam to work, it should be to expand the community. Steam has tons of dedicated community sections that shows arts, posts, and what not. Also it can get players' friends interested by showing them what they are playing. I vote steam support! Though I don't think my vote matters...
  • Im ok with it Not being on Steam....I think a Steam release would be definitely beneficial though. I just want controller support so i can launch the game through Steam big picture mode and be able to use my Steam controller to play the games nights when i just feel like crashing in my lazyboy instead of my office chair.

  • Steam Release.... really, i don't really like it tho. I agree with the fact with it will bring in a lot of gamers, probably couple of good ones, but imo there are a lot more people who are going to try to ruin the community.I'd prefer a more well mannered medium sized community over a large community with a significant proportion of assholes.
These guys are the ones who will probably ruin your fun.

You have a point. There are tons on the community in steam that are quite toxic. Although, toxicity at some level is in inevitable in any game. The monthly subscription will help weed out some of this.

Agreed.. Ive found that Subbed games  the players are more polite and its a better community overall. The FTP game models are too many trolls and griefers because they have nothing on the line.
