Multiple accounts/ something similar to Eve's API?

Question. I know we can have multiple toons on the same account. Pretty much an MMO staple. But does anyone know if there is going to be something similar to Eve's account/character API system? Since this game is going to be kinda similar in regards to no faction based warfare, just battling other guilds/nodes. 

Reason Im asking, I just saw a guy named @Goonsquad browsing the forums and if Goonswarm is going to have a presence in this game Im creating a spy character to infiltrate them.  >:)

    So I'm assuming you mean having more than one character logged in on one account?

    I think I hopped into Eve at some point but never stayed so I am unfamiliar with their system.  I know Steven did say that spies were something we would have to watch for.   One toon  can't belong to different guilds but your different characters can be in different ones.  Just don't advertise the fact.  :D

    Oh and I have run across them myself in other games.  GL

    Yep. As CR mentioned, Steve said that we will be able to use alts as spies to infiltrate rival guilds.

    For those who dont know, Eve's API system is as follows.

    Almost all corps (guilds) in Eve will request your account API when you join their guild. Because it shows all your toons on that account, what corp (guild) they belong to and their corp (guild) history. So if I have one toon on my account that has been in Guild A for years and suddenly I apply to Guild B (who is at war with Guild A) with another toon on my account then Guild B will almost definitely say 'no' to my application to join as they know Im just joining to spy on them. Thus you have to have multiple accounts in Eve. One for your main alliance and another for any spies you want. (And multiple more if you need cyno alts, haha). 

    Just kinda wondering if there will be a way for guild/alliance leaders to see all our toons on the same account. If not I can have multiple toons in multiple different guilds. If they implement an Eve-style thing though, well I need multiple accounts.

    That was on thing I disliked about ESO.

    In general, Intrepid seems to not like addons and counters and things of that nature. While an API is different, in light of their other tendencies around sharing game data, I'd doubt they are inclined to provide one.

    Nope, i was actually in TEST for a short while, but every time i go back to EVE i get bored. it takes TOOO long to be able to do anything, and everything else is too easy, or comes with no effort. I'm hoping this game will be a middle ground between hours and years.

    Not too familiar with the history of EVE's alliances. CBA to try to get back into it with ashes being in development. I'm too hyped for this one.

    I love spies... in
    fact just the other day I caught myself spying on me....  Soooo I decided I needed to work on my stealth so as to not catch myself next time.

    Wonderful, just simply wonderful.  I will have to see how this all plays out.  The worst that happens is that I get my investment back during Beta testing and find something else to play.  Note:  I realize that nobody will likely read this comment.  I was just so very, very "happy" to find that beloved Goonswarm had interest in AoC.
