Most people hate pop-ups.  I'd rather Ashes of Creation not be associated with one of the most annoying aspects of the internet.

Please no... pop up ads in my experience are more annoying than anything else and and people tend to be less inclined to go to or use/buy something from pop up ads ... I do believe ad blockers where invented with blocking pop up ads in mind... I also tend to avoid any websites that use pop up ads in any fashion.

I don't see why ashes of creation cant make one of thos pop-up adds that has a fake (X) and when you click on it, it takes u to a new website and simulataneously installes the AOC client while also force downloading a browser toolbar and forcing you to use bing. *Satire* I meant, make up something funny like... Doctors hate this 300 year old dwarf who discovered that drinking a keg of mead a day keeps the doctors away.

Because bait and switch is a dishonest practice as well is miss representing the place to click to exit something. Both would bring distrust and dislike of Ashes and Intrepid which is more detrimental to the game then helpful in bringing new players

You mean those dinosaur ads that most of us buried long ago?  I'd forgotten they existed.  Well the idea is buried somewhere in my head.   Nothing humorous about those pop up ads.

When you try and close it the popup should open another page to, till you have so many pages open, you just give up and sign up to the website. If your machine has not locked up with all the popups, you may escape it grip on your pc.

I think it should go a step further and infect your computer with ransomware, but instead of paying money to get access to your computer back, you have to sign up for AOC.

I would rather be ignorant then apathetic, at least that way I'd still be open to learning. Perhaps you would care to cure me of ignorance and point out where I missed their true meaning of his posting this thread? Would be helpful as I am not completely familiar with their writing style as I have not had the opportunity to do so myself. It would be greatly appreciated and helpful in improving my discernment of people's meaning.

Thank you for clarification. Your op was not vary clear on that and read as "something that the devs sold do" rather than "community created satire". The way your second post is structured made it look like you wanted it to be done in a sartorial way. Rather then this whole thread being about satire. Thank you again for clarification.

It was not my intention to come across as "having a stick up my ars" and for that I apologize however Drypht's comment was not vary constructive and my last comment was directed at his rather then you. I will now withdrawal from this thread as I don't have anything to add to the acual intent of the op and do not wish to derail.
