Let's not draw conclusions. There was nothing bad about that day lol, I remember talking to Yavi that day about Booby and Booty sliders - it wasn't anything negative. Let's not try to combine things that aren't the truth in order to run the rumour mill :P

Yaviey cites leaving IS over creative differences.
Shunex and Sarumonin are no longer moderators. (at least for Discord)
Shunex cites needing more personal time.
I know it may not be my place say, but the handful of times I was in Discord Sarumonin came across as the power tripping type of moderator, so I think that was a good move, as that can turn off new people.

I'm really, really sorry if I ever came across like that. I really am just a down-to-earth guy. I follow the the guidelines that Steven gave us in order to keep everyone in order, or else there'd be just chaos and insanity. I'm sorry if that is how you still see me as D:

    @Shunex

Thanks for taking the time to address this matter.  There's nothing worse then people speculating and/or creating demoralizing statements to add to peoples uncertainties about the future.
    Hopefully this will settle it.

Agreed! With the crazy rumors that have been spreading, it's a little nice to see this thread up and running as long as it doesn't go off course haha

It was a joke not literal ^^ we know fine well it was not the booby slider ^^ all the best to Yaviey though and her further adventures ^^
  • @Shunex, you were the only moderator I saw actively being a "moderator" around here on a consistent basis, so I'm sorry the majority of those duties fell on your shoulders. I know that as a volunteer, those duties can quickly become a burden. But you're right that your school studies should take priority.  In the long term, you gotta do what is right for you.

The community here is still new, all things considered, so hopefully the admin/monitor situation will get straightened out in time.

I'm more of a Discord moderator for the most part. :3 I do appear if people @ me though.

@Shunex   Rumpleforge said it well and you should know that your work here has been noted by many who also know how important your studies
are and wish you well in your endeavors.   Relax when you're able and join us as you can.   :)

Shu is a blessing and I'm forever grateful for his dedication to the forums. He mostly takes care of the forums, it's his humble abode <3

Which is good really.  I would argue that Discord probably has a greater need for more vigilant moderation compared to the forums.

If anything he does it too well! Though will try to split my attention between Discord and the Forums more often now to alleviate some pressure on Shunex so he can focus on his studies more.

    I figured death was everywhere.

Are you telling me I have to look out for his proxy now more too?!
  • Death uses proxy to surf the underweb anonymously ;)
  • Coming back at the same time is even weirder than leaving at the same time.

I can't help but imagine them skipping out the door, hand in hand, and waving goodbye - immediately followed by them returning in the same fashion with wide grins on their faces.
Makes you wonder what kind of shenanigans they get into! ;)

I imagine them skipping out the door, getting about half a block, turning to see the ice cream truck pull up and heading back at full speed.  :)

How can the CM have a 'creative difference' with the company?  She wasn't programming or drawing art or creating anything......

People come and go all the time but that statement doesn't seem to make a lot of sense....

Anyhow, -- "Change isn't permanent but change is" - Rush
I've served as a "volunteer" moderator on a few forums over the years, as well as a guide within a couple of MMOs (like being an unpaid customer service person).  Almost every time I left was because I didn't have time anymore.  It's very common.

Once though I left for creative differences.  I was the sole moderator for a section of a message board that helped people get certified with IT certifications (to be a professional computer technician).  I managed the board for A+ certification which is a certification for PC repair and troubleshooting.  I did that for years just for fun and because I liked to help people.  And I learned things now and then to help my own professional development and skills too.  It was (at the time) the most popular board for that kind of thing and was very active.

Eventually the person who owned that web site demanded that I start promoting certain training materials because the vendors were sponsoring the site.  I refused to do so because those materials were of low quality and overpriced; in fact I usually provided people with info about free methods to study and prepare for certification tests.  I understood the owner's POV because he needed money to run the site and didn't want to upset sponsors, but I wasn't going to donate my time to try to sell something I didn't believe in.  It went against the whole purpose in being a volunteer.  So I left.  It was truly about creative differences between me and that site even though I was not an official employee or otherwise affiliated with that site or its business professionally.

It could be something similar here.  The CM might not have agreed with some community policy that was being implemented or changed.  Or didn't like information being given to the community or withheld from the community.  It doesn't imply that either side is "wrong", just as I felt in my previous experience it may honestly be a case where two well-intentioned sides can't come to an agreement so someone has to go.  Often times the term "creative differences" is a euphemism used to save face for one or both parties, but sometimes it's actually a good description of what really happened.

Hey no worries.  First impressions can often be misleading, sort of like judging a book by its cover.  But it's all good, so I look forward to interacting with you more in the forums and wherever while we all play the waiting game.  :p

    Thanks man!

I'm on Discord a bit more, unless tagged or checking support forums. I can't wait to have the game release so we can all hang out and just enjoy this history in the making!
