Animations

Il just get right to it, I have watched more or less everything I can find on Ashes of Creation. The one thing that I hate, is the Animations.
The tank/fighter movement seems really robot like, and the fight sceens with the tank/fighter really don't look good.

I get that the UI is a placeholder. But I would think that if your going to sell a product, you would get the animations done before you showed it of.

I really hope that the animations in this game is far from done.

Is it only me or?

Comments

  • the animations are still being worked on, and are far from being finished  most of the work is done by 1 animator atm but they are bringing on some more
  • And it is pre-alpha we're lucky they are showing us anything I guess.

ClyverRayne: Ye i know, but then again they are going to sell a product, like KS and now Summer crowdfunding. So I just wanted the topic to come up so people could know what was going on.

Only you. It is very early days. This exact topic was addressed by Steven on Discord. If you go to Intrepid_Answers and scroll through the massive amount of info there you will find an exchange where Steven says (Paraphrasing) "Yeah, we knew we might take a hit from people on the state of the videos, but in keeping with our idea of being open and transparent throughout the process we thought it worth it." People have a hunger for information. When they feed that hunger, there are always those that try to vomit it back up going "See, see....the game is shit!" Come back in a year, or when the NDAless persistent alpha videos start hitting the net, then form an opinion.

lol, the game aint shit, just the animation. The animation comes in late at least in the project I've been a part of, but everytime we were going to show the product it was important to get the animations to look good before we showed it of. So why not just ask them?

Sorry if my response seemed a bit harsh. I have been seeing an influx of what looks like uninformed trolls starting threads trying to slam the game with misinformation. Every game that has open forums gets them eventually. The fact that there still isn't one convenient source like a Dev Tracker/Mod Tracker to compile all this information in one place contributes to the same questions being asked/answered multiple times.
  • eeek someone tracking me? :runaway:

Hahaha...something more convenient than the stalking we have to do now, which is click on your name, then go back over each of your responses one by one would be nice. Discord trying to find a quote that isn't in quotebin to refute bad speculation/info is a nightmare sometimes.

Yeah I think we could all name some of the more likely candidates for those.....

And definitely no worries @Torkel56, ask away and raise any concerns, if you think that something might be an issue, it's better that your view is considered rather than disregarded.
Though I'd totally support the discord option as the community help desk there is very swift with voicing information :)
  • Pre alpha...not really anything else to say.
