Bards

I have been thinking about Bards class.  Being a Music Major and Musician all my life, I have always wanted to have the option in MMORPG to Create my own music for the game.  I believe that it would be possible to have a Musician profession and give some bonuses to the Bard class.  I would like to see some different Instruments drop in the game or Recipes drop for a crafting class.  Bards should have the option to learn their own songs or melodies and customize the buffs that they can give a group. Then each Bard could have a different strength level to their buffs and combo buffs.  Also the long term buffs would be cool...kind like in SWG.  Everyone use to have to get a Musician buff and Doctor buff in order to be effective in the world when questing or PVPing or just exploring...it created more conversations between players.  Especially when going out in areas that the creatures could almost 1 shot you and you needed 10 to 20 players working together in order to survive...and be effective..

Hi @Berros I think your vision is pretty close to how I'd like the bard class to "play" ('scuse the pun). IS seem to want bards to not just be the "buff guy". They also want the class to have an active role in combat, which I think is awesome

I agree that they should have some combat abilities but with a main focus on distracting the enemy or confusing them and always adding defensive or offensive buffs to the group...

Heya @Berros I like the idea of being able to compose your own music, as well as varying levels of potency to their buffs and such.  I have not heard much about instrument usage or varying types of instruments, only what @lexmax has shared about the active combat role.

I hope they get really creative with the Bard class.  Outside of combat, it would be nice if Bards could play different instruments in camps or Inns to entertain and even heal the effects of corruption or death penalties.
