Players as a result of their interactions cause a node to progress. Could we say as an out of the way node that is unexplored and underutilized that npc's progress it instead? Npc's from areas that are advancing flee to these areas and begin their own mock civilization. I'm supposing this is part of their dynamic world concept anyway so it should already be in development.
