Will devs smooth out camera movements?

In pre-alpha footages, when the character is moving, camera movements don't look very smooth. Will devs fix this? I know it's a small issue but it can diminish the fluidity of the game.

Thanks

I would hope so, a lot of people in the community seem to believe they will fix everything including the pre alpha sluggish combat system. But they do have a point its '' pre alpha''. But its good you are voicing your concern kind of puts it on the radar if they read this. So to answer your question, Yes I believe it will be fixed.

  • "Smoothness" will mostly depend on your PC performance.

There are several steps ahead and opportunities to polish the game. It's pre-alpha right now, and far too early for this to be a major concern. If there are still camera issues in a year's time during the alpha and beta phases, then I and other testers will be hounding Intrepid about it! Count on it :)
  • @lexmax beat me to it. Was looking for the article where they explain how opening up the development process and being transparent has bad points. This is an example of one of those bad points. Players look at stuff that is being worked on and then go back to share "Look at that animation, that game is gonna suxxors!!" When the game is not even 20 percent done. PAX is going to be a lot of them repeating over and over "This is an early concept build of combat, not the finished product." They just need to tape Steven or Jeffrey on a loop and play it instead of music as background audio at PAX.
  • there will be no camera issues by time the game is live.

You have kind of answered your own concern.......It's PRE APLHA, not even alpha, beta or even epsilon. Functional first and foremost and they will tighten up things as they are in beta. Now if this was late beta footage, THEN you would have reason to be worried.
  • Yes.

No, everything will stay exactly as it is. The models you have seen are the only models there will ever be and the only metropolis there is in that one spot and what we saw is the whole world already. Yes the UI is as is and will be delivered tomorrow for us to play like that. :3

  • I'm 100 % positive it will be smoothed out .... remember this is pre pre pre alpha boys and girls. they are just starting to come out with icons for the spells and stuff like that. I'm sure the camera performance and animations will take a lot more work before they are any kind of final product.
  • I wouldnt worry till late Alpha really, lots will come out in the future that might look a bit off.
  • I had not noticed that the camera was jerking to need smoothing off in the first place.
  • Well it's to be expected for pre-alpha like the people already said. But yea I guess it comes down to what priorities the devs have. We might see a change in the alpha. We might se it in beta. But I'm pretty sure it will be fixed before release.
  • I'm 100 % positive it will be smoothed out

By the time Ashes are released both the game code will improve and we will have much more powerful graphics cards, so I am not too worried about this.

    Intrepid is surely on this.

Hmm, now that I think of it, what of the following would be correct:

    (A) When Ashes ARE released
    (B) When Ashes IS released

Ashes is plural as noun, but it relates to a game name, and game is singular.
Any native English speaker here cares to drop few words of wisdom? :)
  • B

    its not referring to multiple

I noticed the same thing, in pre-alpha footage, but I am certain that will be fixed.
However, I noticed something far worse. When the characters turn, it's based on the animation. It looked really slow to see Steven on the Mage turn. Comparable with keyboard turning. I hope it won't be tied to animation, because they makes it feel so slow and sluggish.

And the answer is indeed B.

Ashes of Creation is singular. Ashes in this context is merely a abbreviation. Replace it with "the game."

    When "the game" is released.
