Question about Backer rewards and the looting system.

I know I've probably overlooked it, but:

When someone goes "Red" in the game, thus opening the chance that equipped items can be dropped on death, will Backer rewards be safe from that? For example: The 1K backer tier has awards like Guild Cloaks and mount barding... will it be possible to lose those?

    No, the game is not full loot. The only thing lootable is gathered/crafted materials that someone may be carrying and only a portion of those. Gear has decay and can be broken. Dying while corrupted (red) has an increased chance of breaking/destroying gear. So if you are looking for a PK gankfest while you strip others bare this is not going to be the game for you.

    The assumption implied in your post is incorrect. I'm not the "ganking" type.
    I was asking because, as a Backer, I'm thinking about upgrading to the $1K for the guild stuff, but it IS a concern handing out one of the cloaks (for example) to someone and watching it get ganked away from them.

    That being said, I didn't quite word the original post correctly. I meant for Reds. Steven had stated in one of the streams that being Red could cause equipped stuff to drop (and thus be lootable), so I was trying to ask if the Backer rewards fell into that category. I'll reword the original post to make that clear.

    Sorry for the confusion. There has been an influx lately of the pvp bros coming in to "no full loot? deez gam gonna suxxor!!" posts. I thought it was a little weird since I have seen you on the forums before. No official stance on the guild items being destroyed that I have seen, probably an issue that needs to be addressed.

    He never gave any indication that he was looking for a pvp gank fest where he stripped his enemies of their gear.  Perhaps he was a $1k backer and was worried that someone would be running off with his cloak.  

    Just because he's a leader of a guild called Wolfpack and the studio that produced Shadowbane was called Wolfpack doesn't necessarily mean he's a pvp fiend.  Seriously you could have answered the question simply without making any unnecessary inferences about the original poster.
