Alpha Two Realms are now unlocked for Phase II testing!
For our initial launch, testing will begin on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10 AM Pacific and continue uninterrupted until Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10 AM Pacific. After January 6th, we’ll transition to a schedule of five-day-per-week access for the remainder of Phase II.

Aside from mining ...
If the entire Open-World allowed players to dig holes ... then it would give a new aspect of Open-World PvP and additional RP
( but not too big & not too deep ; a 12x12 Hole, 6inch Deep at most )

Being able to Hide your Loot in these Holes if you're suspicious. BUT these holes can be dug-up from other Players if they find it and/or if they seen you do it
In short, this Mechanic will constantly be presented to the Players just like Combat ; it'll be something memoriable & unique to Ashes. It'll be similar to the EQ Item-Selling mechanic:

EDIT It must not & will not be spammable. limit to 1 per person ... and it won't be instantaneously made either xD
( maybe a 2nd ? When Community-Population Grows, then that'll mean many places with holes in them in the in-game world. BUT that depends on the Size of the world . So that's why 1 should be do-able )

- To Dig Holes to prevent your loot from being looted
- Set Traps within these Holes
- Find " Treasure " within these Holes

- If you sell an item to a Vendor in EQ ... if another player would try to purchase something from " that same vendor " ... then " that " item will appear on another Players' Screen

lads get to work on the hole
so it's seems like a useless mechanics when it comes to hiding anything, what's the point? valuables will be safer on your body.
so you wont be able to find anything valuable in them either.
only thing we're left with is traps. and you don't need a hole mechanic to have traps in your game.
But imagine what other things you could with just digging - imagine how much you could " grow " with just that idea alone. ( not like MineCraft )
- I even thought about Gardening ... but honestly, Gardening is never going to be the same Feeling if you go outside and garden instead of in an MMO ; " to inhale the Fresh-Smell of Nature "... can't incorporate that same feeling in an MMO imo . But thats just me - idk about everyone else. But Gardening could be Part of an Artisan ? Unsure
- " Magic " is unfathomably vast - anything impossible becomes possible ... but because its an MMO it has to be (somewhat) simplistic . For example
If i step on Dug-Trap ... It could explode like a Mine-Field/ Shrapnel , but since this is a High-Fantasy World - the traps could be Magic-Based:
