Grow a potato in 15 days

So I heard farming will be a thing in AoC. If 15 min game time = 1 hour then 1 month = 7 days and 12 hours. If it takes 2 months to grow a potato in the real world that means it will take 15 days to grow one in game. (I don't actually know how long it takes to grow a potato. I just guessed)

If there are 4 seasons that means each one will last 3 weeks.
1 day = 6 hours.
What do you think of that? I'm confused.

If it's similar to Archeage, then it will take only a matter of 3-24 hrs to grow most crops, with the smaller more common ones like potatoes and berries growing as fast as a few hours, while trees took a day or two.

I think this is a solid way to go. I imagine some things, like rare crops, could take up to a week, but in a world were gear will be player made, I don't see Intrepid making crop grow cycles as outrageous as 15 real life days for just potatoes.

I think it would be cool though to have the season change how fast certain crops grown, such as corn growing faster in the summer, while apples grow better in the fall, ect...

Maybe not block out growing totally in winter, but just increase the grow time. Perhaps we will have greenhouses? Hydroponics even...

I'm also disappointed, I thought this thread was going to be a "how to" on growing potatoes fast.
  • Seasonal growth modifiers would be cool.

Hmm.. if stuff doesn't grow in winter then we need silos and grain bins and the price of food will fluctuate.  I like that idea. Also, maybe we will fight for food if the markets run out. That might be cool.

Did you know a day on Jupiter is only 10hours long?
And a "day" on Venus takes 116 earthern days actually?

With a different tilt in the axis you can get different lengths in seasons, not a clean 3-3-3-3months cut like earth.  Mars has something like 7-5-4-3 and a Mars year is longer btw.
Now why are we comparing that again to an in-game representation? As far as I am concerned there could be any time translation. After that we could put in any growth enhancing/slowing factors on this fantasy planet.

Just don't try to 1:1 everything to earth, that's what I think about it.
Edit: don't we have several suns on Verra? How do you factor that in?
