*attempts to wake everyone up with copious servings of coffee on this dull, limped morning* welcome to the wonderful wait for Ashes!
I'm hoping at some point we'll be provided with in game comfy sofas as a thanks for waiting so patiently... but I'm half asleep so probably being far too hopeful.

Take a seat, Welcome! What are you feeling most hopeful about?

  • Welcome to the community. I hope you have fun on the forums.
  • wow thx for all the warm welcome wishes guys ... and girls.

but euh .... small question, why all those welcomes? Or you all just hoping for an alpha key just because you are wishing every new person a warm welcome, and thus showing you are active?

That's nice and all and it sure is appreciated but .... It really doesn't have anything to do with alpha testing, you know that right??

Alpha testing is for people that actively want to help the devs discover bugs, game breaking elements, suggestions on certain game strategy's that are not really working ... overall to "help improve" the game by lending feedback! Its not just to "play" an unfinished game and see if you like it! in fact be prepared to be utterly disappointed in how little content you get acces to .... and how many bugs you will encounter! more importantly its your "job" to tell the devs your findings in as much detail as possible!

So really nice of you guys to wish me this warm welcome ... but if its just for "scoring" an alpha key ... you kinda missing the point of alpha and beta testing IMHO.

    regards Boes
  • You posted in the newly arrived. welcoming people doesn't = an alpha key.

i can't speak for the others, but my motivation is that I want this game to be the Mmo Ive dreamt of, and one of the biggest aspects of that for myself is a friendly  happy community.

They say you get out of it what to put in, and so far, for myself at least, thats proving to be the case, this is a great community to be part of.

    Happy to be happy.

Its call manners kind sir/madam when someone new joins it's only polite to welcome them. where I am from manners are just as important as tea it has nothing to do with the alpha key

Sincerely, I think you're the one missing the point. There's a lot of people in this thread who've worked hard to try and make this community welcoming, inclusive and a comfortable environment for all who join it. And whether you've been here from day 1 or just yesterday, they will respond to you, encourage you and be polite to you. We do it because we care about the community we're hoping to spend a large amount of time being a part of, and for your information, there's one or two guys/gals here who've had alpha 0 keys long before you made this thread.

Find a "hi guys" thread and you'll find us in it, why? You just read why.

hehe don't shoot! i just found a whole lot more welcome reply's then i was expecting, and found it at least some what funny! Sure enough most of them will be sincere, but i could not help the feeling that for some there was more behind it! So i decided outright to be as honest as possible!

Hope you guys are like me and just tell it to my face and be honest! as some people just did
  • Oh, you can trust a Dwarf to be blunt ;)

You'll find that this community is extremely supportive my friend. As for Alpha 0 keys, as great as this game is I personally cant see much use for playing the game except for extensive game knowledge that will already be provided from a guilds testers

It's fair to be blunt but even if there is more motivation behind the welcomes than just acknowledging a new person to the community I would say that's a fair positive any how eh?

Any way, welcome to the community. I look forward to meeting you in-game. Hopefully its under positive terms
(I plan on being a bounty hunter)

In the interest of openness and honesty... I can't deny that there was a bit of a race that went on among some of us on the older forums to be the first to five stars, or to get a badge or two.....

Just because it was a fun thing to do with a bunch of fun people... but there may have been a moment or two back then that my motives for welcoming people werent quite so altruistic. *shamedface*
Luckily it turned out that being so welcoming is a good thing :D People chat back when you talk to them, who'da thunk it?
