Pet or Mount

Does AoC have any mount or pet/partner we can raise in the World of Verra?

Several different options for pets and mounts. Breeding and cross breeding is a thing to increase stats. There will not be mounted combat as such, but mounts may have limited combat ability when attacked. Pets that are used in combat will fall under the summoner archetype. Battle pets like WOW is not a thing so far. If you mean a pet that levels with you, then so far the information is no (excluding summoner mechanics, which haven't been given so far). Increasing mount and pet stats is a function of the breeding crafting tree.

Personally I wish a game had an option for no pets or mounts, with some sort of offset stat increase in some area. One year in and games have a gazillion pets and mounts. Do we really need 10 mounts? or 20?

Need? No. Want? Some would say, "hell yeah!" I'm hoping we get a fair range of different mounts and it would be cool if they suffered status effects so if you wanted to wade through a snow haven, riding a polar bear would be far more efficient than riding a camel. That's probably true for sandy places too when you're a Dwarf.

I want a "pack polar bear" instead of a "pack mule" please. This is likely to be the wheelbarrows people mentioned in another thread, to transport resources. In Ultima Online, they were VERY useful for miners or lumberjacks so they could get the resources from the trees/ore walls into facilities to turn them into something MUCH MUCH lighter, like say arrows, or ingots.

With the ability to breed mules or rather pack animals my dream of having my bear mount with my pack bear in tow as I slowly meander through the hills and mountains seeking my fortune with pick and shovel might just be a reality. Its me the crusty old prospector.

Thank you for the post, I hope to gain a rare mount, or level / breed my own. I am pve player and pvp secondary, I want to put effort into breeding a special mount. I hope they don't make everything buyable like dragon prophet did. 
I really hope they improve the combat system; it seems....like a noob combat system for 2017.

1. You can only buy Skins for mounts, not mounts themselves in the Cash Shop if that is what you meant.
2. Combat you have seen so far is Pre-PreAlpha footage.
So basically what you have been seeing so far is 10-20% of how the combat system will actually look :P
