@Steven [Prerequisite-Philosophy]
I'm sure a-lot of users have noticed that I often make comparisons to WoW
-And deduce that AOC should not try and be like WoW
(I'm not suggesting it should be.)
*Blizzard has made an enormous amount of mistakes in regard to their MMO
(Flying-mounts, Dungeon-finder, Instant Level-cap, World AH, etc...
But they've also done somethings RIGHT!)
A Smart-man learns from his mistakes.
A Wise-man learns from others mistakes.
1926: the height of originality is skill in concealing origins
1933: originality is little more than skill in concealing origins
1938: originality was merely skill in concealing origins
1953: originality has been described as the art of concealing origins
1970: originality is the art of concealing your source
1985: creativity is the art of concealing your sources
1989: the secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources
I doubt many of you will fully appreciate what I'm trying to say,
It's my understanding that Steven has a Philosophy-major and I would urge him not to focus on being Different, but focus on being RIGHT!

Even a world AH can work if implemented correctly, it is not a bad thing. Dungeon finders as well. I'd rather have a good dungeon finder instead of "LFG XYZ Dungeon" all day long without results.
Who is to say what is wrong or right?
Who is to say that being different can't be right?
One person's "right" is another person's "wrong.
Show me any game that had it 100% right and I will laugh you to the ground.
If Ashes goes the way of Steven's dreams for a good game, then his game is "right" for him and hopefully right for the majority of us.
(Obviously "Different" can be Right, but it can also be Wrong)
*Yes Right and Wrong are subjective
(Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder)
~Clearly you missed the entire point of this post...
But I didn't expect most people to get-it.
I was telling Steven not just to focus on being Different,
because Different for Difference's sack lacks meaning-
(He should be able to justify his decisions- which should have PURPOSE)

- William Ralph Inge
Originality implies being bold enough to go beyond accepted norms.
- Anthony Storr
There are quotes about literally anything and they always contradict themselves, so a quote doesn't imply what is right or wrong.
One that discovers the contradiction in quotes, deserves a daily salary of 1mil €.

PM me for my bank details.
there is a Factual differences between Right & Wrong, Truth & False, etc...
Most of what we discuss in terms of Game-mechanics will be Objective in how they effect the game, but Subjective of how we feel about them.
The quotes I linked have Deep-philosophical meaning and inherent Truth, but I doubt many of you will understand them if you haven't gone through the critical thinking process... (The tittle is @Steven, because he Majored in Philosophy)
Steven should understand this:
If anything doesn't tie in with the pillars they don't use it.
It is what attracted me to Ashes of Creation
I agree some stuff blizzard did i didnt like, but it was not aimed at me it was meant for the biggest amount of players they have. I do understand the wishes of some here and whaat they want, But you also need to understand that its a buisness and you always need to adjust your product or add something to it to make it customer friendly.
(Were talking about Blizzard who Nerfed level-60 Raids for Level-80s in 10x better Gear because these scrubs couldn't get their "Classic-Raider" Achievement)
*What's the fucking-point of the Achievement...if they had to Nerf the content-?
WoW *How to Raid: 2008-2017+
The amount of Brain-cells required since Giving away level-90s
is causing Brain-ATROPHY among unsuspecting players!!!
(Most of them already to Dumb to know it's occurring)
You keep saying that you don't expect others to "get it." Implying that somehow since Stephen has a philosophy degree he immediately understands your post.
You called out specific mistakes you think WoW made, eluded to them doing some things you thought were good, copy/pasted from https://quoteinvestigator.com/2014/06/01/creative/, and then suggested Stephen "focus on being Right."
With all your references to Stephens degree in Philosophy you obviously know his "Right" might not be yours.
Of course, I might not "get it."
