One thing in (QUESTS) that you absolutely do NOT want in AoC

I hate poorly designed quests.

Puzzle quests are good if they give you enough information to solve it within 15 mins after that its like come on I want to progress to the next bit. But most players just goggle it once they cant solve it.
I dont like the quests which tell you to go to a location but cant find it on the map or quests that give you a location but its the wrong location.

When you do fetch quests and you need to get like 20 - 50 items. But the respawn rate is very slow.

One thing I dont want to see is dialog direction questing. The player needs to have a few options like do a good deed, be evil, semi care, does not care or just doing it for the reward because it suits the player.

Comments

  • I don't like quests where I feel like what I am doing is mundane. For instance, I don't want to get a quest to go weed a farmers field so to speak. I noticed stuff like that in Guild Wars 2 and I hated it. I'm a hero, why am I getting buckets of water to feed your cows?

    What I DO like:

I love slaying quests, or quests that have multiple facets such as collection and then killing a boss or something.

I really like quests that help play into moving you to a new zone for a new quest hub. And I'm not saying ones where they guy is like, "go here and talk to so and so for a quest". I mean the ones where they tell you to kill someone or get an item, and by doing so you stumble upon a new quest giver.

  • I feel like, where you search for a rare drop rate quests are where it kills me when you kill mobs over and over for like anywhere from 30mins to 4hrs ( Here's looking at you EQ2). Like those feel way more of a chore than anything else. I'd rather have more engaging quests where I actually care about the quest and the story that goes with it.

Hopefully there is some funny quests as well that will remain memorable like ( that one quest in hyjal throwing baby bears on to a trampoline in wow) that was funny and memorable.
  • Dailies!
  • I don't want escort quests where the escorted person or thing still moves slow when in danger. Like come on merchant. You're getting hit. run away
  • Repeatable dailies that you feel obligated to do every day because they give a material or reward that is not available by any other means, really have come to dislike them.
  • Agreed on repeatable quests.
Also ones that make you travel from one edge of the map to the other only for you to fast forward through some uninteresting monologue and having to run all the way back! I want at least the illusion that I'm spending my time on worthwhile things.
  • I dont like boring, long and useless quests IF they give nothing interesting.

Since there will be no TP on the map be sure i wont do them.
  • I don't repeatable daily quests that you MUST do, or else you are loosing on stuff.
I don't like chores that I feel "I must" do.

I prefer everything optional, and progress available from many available alternate sources.
