Can this game delete Black Desert?

I am in need of a game on par with the graphics of Black Desert. I come from WoW but can never go back to that pixeled relic. I have been playing black desert for 2 years and need so.ething more. Any honest opinions?

In my opinion BDO will kill itself before Ashes is released. The amount of people discovering the game has to be less then the amount playing it, realizing it's a boring grind fest and leaving.

The only good thing about BDO is it's graphics and combat.
  • The grind is real in BDO, I really disliked the fact that there wasn’t any dungens and only thing to do for end game was grind mods for hrs on end
  • I want ashes to take the place of bdo about as much as I want a Bentley. I am praying that this will happen.
  • I don't know if BDO will die, rather shrink substantially. People will always move from game to game to an extent. My hope however, is that AoC draws a lot of people and then keeps them. There will be MMOs out before AoC to draw from the current games out there. As far as graphically yes ashes will be able to best BDO, but graphics for a lot of people isn't everything, hence why WoW is still around and has one of the biggest game pops.
  • I'm sure people will move. I've never really put much into the whole "this game is going to kill this game". Games rise and fall based off a lot more than a launch of a new game.

Ye but if many people go from BDO to AoC it would be a strong signal for the mmo genre that people are annoyed of endles grinding and pay to win stuff.

To the qestion. Look the youtube videos out so far. There are many and you get a good impression of the graphics. I personally wouldnt say one is better then the other but i like the style of AoC more. Though i think skill animations are sometimes not beautifull yet but its still pre alpha. I guess they will work on that.
  • My hope isn't necessarily that BDO dies or AOC draws people from BDO. The toxic community found their place in BDO and might as well stay there, we don't want them in AoC for sure.
  • I'd rather want the two games to be seperated. They are so different in terms of concept and community from what I've seen. Let AoC and BDO be their own games with their own communities
  • I think those who love the combat in BDO might not be happy with it here.
The next FPS-MMO that comes out will absorb any that move here because Ashes is new.
  • Pooka doesn't think this game has hands nor does Pooka think it has the programmed intelligence to know how to delete a program.
  • Will it kill off BDO? Probably not. Only BDO could do that with poor decision making.

Could Ashes get you to play it over BDO? That's possible depending on how development goes and what the overall gameplay turns out to be.

For me, just about everything takes the place of BDO. It's never been that game where I just dedicate hours and hours to playing. I get an itch and play for a bit, work on my worker empire a little, get bored, and move on to something else again.

If Ashes fails to be better than BDO that will mean that game lacks any kind of depth or substance to it. BDO to me is just a very pretty wrapper around a very basic package.
  • I deleted BDO long time ago, by myself.
  • No, BDO has a different targeted audience.
If you are only looking for graphics (which is the only reason you gave) they want it to be high spec so for that reason alone ye. Star Citizen has amazing graphics as well, but would you compare it to BDO?
  • Then comes Bless but that MMO has it's own issues. lol
  • Yeah I think Bless Online will take more players from BDO otherwise most people will quit BDO on their own without help from Ashes.
