They have random drawings done from just the list of everyone registered and they do hand selected people that they recognize their efforts and involvement in the community... which im assuming must include the forums in addition to discord and social media.

well no... they used to, and they might again. The last few hand picks though the vast majority have not even made posts on this site. They have to be selecting them from other places. Sadly I was hacked while using an early version of Discord so I am not a fan of it. It seems Discord more than anything is their outlet, pretty much cutting me out of the loop. *shrug* I was seriously excited about this game for a long time, but their updates on this site are rare, and stuff like the item store broken and it seems like they don't really care. I lost interest and only check to see if anything is new, but rarely participate in discussions, as I do not know the latest from discord.

Out of the last 3 hand picks there are 2 forum users. Before that it is more difficult to track. I am not saying they do not pick forum users. They picked some great people here on the forums, but I know from talking with them here they also use discord regularly. I am simply saying they majority of the keys go to discord users, and out of the last three hand picks only 2 people use the forums regularly. I am unable to tell you how much anyone uses discord, as I do not, nor will I.

So saying "grats" isn't particularly useful?

DanJohnson, maybe "grats" is really an acronym for a string of curse words that are too rude to say in public that basically translate to "Oh, darn. You got a key and I didn't."   So yeah, not particularly useful but possibly cathartic.

I am trying not to sound or act bitter. Congrats to those that got a key. I am in the first alpha starting early next year as I am a Braver backer so I am not upset I am not selected. I just wish there was better communication on the boards here, its required to sign up here but if you want to be in the loop you have to be in discord. That is my sore spot.
