Look at the Lancer class from Tera. Stun, chain, stun, knockdown, stun, REPEAT, until your enemy is dead. The lancer in tera is one of the most devastating classes I have ever played/seen, also one of the most frustrating deaths people can experience. Ever heard the quote "Don't feed the trolls."? Yea you don't wanna give me that kind of power

Edit: I thought of another, the guardian fighter's Knight's Valor skill from Neverwinter. I havn't played it in a few years but back in the original CastleNever a GF would control your life with that skill as long as they can tank the damage. I used to love just turning off knight's Valor for 20 seconds and watch 3 people die.

Anything that stunlocks all the time. I think the challenge will be in the 8 x 8 class combos, making sure this doesn't allow cheesey dps with great survivability and mobility
  • Push a single button stunlocks. If there were combos that relied on other players and classes that caused a 1 second knockdown or something I would have no problem with that. Classes with 2 or 3 stuns requiring 1 button on the other hand is something that is extremely annoying to play against. It's also something extremely boring to play as since all you would do is watch your cooldowns or wait for whatever resource until you can cast them again.

The ability to one shot someone of the same level as you. It may feel amazing if you are the one who is doing it, but it does not promote interesting fights or gameplay.

Also, instant cast abilities that hit just as hard as abilities that have a cast time. There should be a trade off between instant cast and non-instant cast abilities with the former being quick and able to be performed on the run and the latter hitting harder at the cost of mobility and potential interruption.
  • Well, that's all dependent on the game? Unless they outright copy a class or a mechanic from another MMO it shouldn't be an issue.
  • stealth - stun - bleeeds - finish off - kill - stealth -run. repeat
  • #NerfDarkrunner
  • Just to name a few

    perma stealth
    aoe mez
    chain stun
    any chain CC

  • Being able to target someone on the other side of a wall or palisade, and then pull them through (or charge through to them) with a skill.

One hit wonders at similar level ranges.

Cutting down tree's for resources, and only getting maybe 10 sheets of paper from an entire tree. . .

I hate anything which renders a character completely helpless in a fight--like the Cleric's Stun from DAOC.  I don't mind root or slow mechanics because a character could still use ranged attacks--like magic or a bow--to stay engaged. But rendering a character irrelevant removes the fun completely for me.
  • Take a close look on ranged classes (archers, mages), they usually end up OP due to stun/knockback, mobility, range and high DPS.

What scares me most is that Steven actually prefers mages.
  • Stealth since it is impossible to balance in a MMO. It is fun to play a stealth class but it is disgusting to play against.
