With no fast travel included, where will you be logging off?

So the time has come to end your gaming session and return to dark reality of RL.

With no fast travel and teleport to just quickly return to "home", will you plan ahead and take your time to return to safe area, or will you just be logging off wherever you were adventuring?

  • Tavern for resting bonus.
  • Most likely will try to make it back to my a freehold if im currently owning one i tend to organize inventory and finish crafting before i log off.
  • How could something hurt me when I am logged off? :D
  • Tavern would be obvious place to end adventuring for the day.
When you login next time, it is great place to get some friend join up for upcoming challenges. If you at that point do not have friends it gives you a more chance to get some compared to freehold :)
  • Your tavern is my tavern too :D Shelter me for the night!
  • Well I will be focusing pvp so if people are waiting for me to log back in then that is just a few more kills and more loot to add to my list. BRING IT MOTHER FUCKERS! Kill or be killed let's go!

  • In the brothel.
  • I will find my way to way to a tavern. Ale & Tavern Wenches is what I'm waking up to!
  • Depending on the optimization of AOC, I will log off in a Tavern or low population area.
  • I'll pay the local taxi carvan person to drop me off at the closest city. (presuming that we will have caravans ran by players and that they can hold multiple people (like a bus) and that they can add/eject ppl and that there is a mechanic to pay them).
  • A city won't be safe, so probably tavern too.

Everywhere is safe when you aren't playing.

Elder why you gotta be makin them smartass comments man, makin me respect you and stuff . . . stop that :P
  • I will probably be one of those rare ones that hangs out in the wildest places and gathers rare plants from those.   I might built a small lodge someplace, but that's besides the point.

As such, most likely I'll be sleeping (logging off) after climbing tree's for safety, and setting my horde of trained squirrel companions to lob nuts down at anyone approaching said tree while offline.

Player: "What's the difference between a rouge and a ranger?  They share a lot of skills."

Me: "Rogues wander though the towering spires in the majestic city streets, stealing gold from fat merchants.  Rangers wander through towering trees and low brambles in the majestic forests, stealing nuts from squirrels."

Most games have a 30 second vulnerability time when logging out from non-safe places, to prevent abuse. Even if you alt+F4.

    Better?  :|
  • You'll come back to a dead character I guess.
  • Need that rest exp.
  • Will be the tavern for me, though the freehold might be a second, I have a tendency to get my bags sorted and any crafting or refining done before I log, then all is ready to jump back to what I was doing when I log back in the next day.
  • Not really a "better" plan but...
    I usually try to time my end game time to be in a city or at my abode, where I finish crafting projects and sell loot and so forth before logging out. However, if I "needed" to get going unexpectedly my goal would be to reach whatever is nearest;
    1) Freehold
    2) Tavern
    3) City
    4) Safe clearing
    5) YOLO
  • I will try to get to a tavern, but if I am in a node that is not settled yet I will just log off in a place that looks safe
  • Obviously, my Paladin will only log off inside a Church. Any time not spent out in the world spreading the Good Word must be spent feeding the hungry, singing Hymns, and praying for guidance.

    Duh.
  • Depends on the situation and location, but usually "No mobs here? Safe to log off".
  • Whilst I agree with limited "fast travel", I do believe that where there are large expanses there will be need to expedite the distance.

It is hoped that mounts will bridge this issue and serve to keep players in the environment in a visible presence.

  • As at least a pseud role player i like to logg out at places i would like to take sleep in rl . most times i will try to reach a tavern or my home depending wich is nearby but sometimes i see a save place in the wilderness why dont enjoy some fresh air and take a nap on a meadow .

Question is is it safe when you log back in. Or do you find yourself in between 7 hungry bears. :)
  • Interesting poll. I go home at night to my comfy bed and a warm fire in the city.
  • Pooka will be logging off....from Pooka's room at Pooka's home.

How would Pooka get into the game world to log off?

    Pooka asks the real questions.
  • In the Tavern so my character toss back a few pints while I'm gone  :D
