Summer backers and founder pack owners and monthly cosmetics

So reading through the fine print of the founder packs it mentions special cosmetics we can buy monthly based on tiers of founder pack (higher tier unlocks more options) and that these cosmetics will only be available for the month they're introduced and then never again. But then it also says "Kickstarter and Summer Backers will always be able to purchase Pre-Order Pack cosmetics as add-ons."

Does this mean Kickstarter and Summer Backers can purchase all tiers of cosmetics during those months, Or all tiers during any month? Or are summer/kickstarter backers also tiered, and thus only able to buy the cosmetics that match their contribution level?

Also does anybody know about how much they're planning on charging for these type of cosmetics?

Comments

  • this game is free to play no pay2win so it shouldnt be any buyable cosmetics packs
  • So here is a simple way to look at it. Once you buy a pack, you can purchase the next round of cosmetics that become available a la carte. You can never purchase cosmetics a la carte from earlier packs. Since KS people were the very first backers, they have been able to purchase the Summer cosmetics separately, the PAX cosmetics, and anything else on offer down the line. The Summer people can purchase the PAX cosmetics, and others down the line. The PAX people will have the option to upgrade their pack (since alpha 1 access was not offered in those packs) or keep theirs and purchase the new pack cosmetics a la carte. The people that have bought these latest packs on offer will be able to purchase cosmetics a la carte from now on as new stuff is offered and the packs are cycled. So if you currently own a pack, you can choose the stuff you want. If you wait until lets say May, then you will NOT be able to go back and purchase any of the previous cosmetics on offer. Getting in early and throwing your cash behind the project gains rewards. Dithering on the fence while you "wait and see" gives you fewer options. Until the store is upgraded and for a time period after, the current necro cosmetics will not change. (confirmed)

The game isn't free to play it's monthly sub
  • And nothing that gives you NO advantage/bonus in gameplay is pay to win. Cosmetics give no advantages.

pay to win is like "pay 4$ and get 10% more exp for 24h" or "pay  3$ and crafting time will be reduced for 1 week"

Buying cosmetic packs is just "Here I like that game, I give you the monthly fee + money for the mountskin (not better stats)"

But... How would a free to play MMO without a shop work? xD Commercials? Kill 10 mobs and watch 3 commercials? To craft an item you have to watch 2 commercials? xD That would be just so insane.

You may want to review the pre-order pack details. For example, the Voyager pack states "6 months of game time ($90 Value)".

Simple math tells us the game will have a sub of $15 per month. Seems like a good way to keep all the pvp-bro kiddies away.
