I agree these events would be concerning. @nscheffel you should test this out during the varying testing phases and report every instance where you think you were able to take control of a server. I'm willing to help you test these things out and I'm sure there is many guilds and people here that do not want to see people using PK tactics to achieve what passes for success in their eyes. So you will find no shortage of people willing to help you test these things out. What testing phase are you going to join?
I won't be joining any testing phase until sufficient answers are provided to these concerns.

You won't be mimicking a hardcore PvP guild with a merry band of random testers.
I agree a group of tester's aren't going to be able to find every possibility but going in to it with the purpose of finding ways to break the system is a good step in the right direction.
  • People that stay perma green should have harsher consequences.

This would fit "inaction has consequences" mentality, to balance "actions have consequences" mentality.

And this, right here, is why no penalty system will stop players from PKing others.

I fully expect to see Gothix in game being a terror to all the carebears looking to play AoC as a PvE game haha.

Another loophole: PKer steps between you and a mob you are attacking, gets hit, and can now kill you.

Large guilds will absolutely, guaranteed, definitely, without a doubt have a team of corrupted PKers in their ranks. They will be used to enforce whatever the guild wants enforced. They will not care about being corrupted because they will have the outside support of their guild.

You don't move your freehold out of the guild's node when they say? The PK group comes for you.

You don't vote as the guild instructs you? The PK group comes for you.

You kill a member of the PK group? The PK group continues to come for you.

The PKers are so corrupted their stats are terrible? They will just jump off a cliff 20 times and reset their corruption.

One thing is certain: Griefers will be drawn to this game, and they will be better at PvP than 95% of all players. The best ones will have the full backing of large powerful guilds controlling metro nodes, and there's not a thing casual players will be able to do about it.

Hopefully the devs have some ideas to combat this easily foreseeable situation.

Who needs a guild when you can multibox your own party, hit an enemy at the same time with all players under your control and then leave the corruption mule to make the final kill. Xv1 has its benefits.
The corruption mule serves no purpose but to make the killing blow anyway.
So hopefully that loophole gets closed.

Any guild can play both sides of the field as ally and enemy. So any measure that rely on allies/enemies to remove corruption is instantly open to abuse.

The only way is to ensure all attackers get corrupt and the only way to work it off is personal endeavour that cant be bypassed, assisted or accelerated. XP can be accelerated and assisted with. The only thing that cant be tampered with is time played.

So I would suggest a 'time played' sentence instead.
Any kills while corrupted escalate the level.
    1 kill = 2 days corruption @ 95% power
    2 kill = 4 day corruption @ 85% power
    3 kill = 8 days corruption @ 70% power
    4 kill  = 16 days corruption @ 50% power
    5 kill = 32 days corruption @ 30% power
    6 kill  = 64 days corruption @ 15% power
    7 kill = 128 days corruption @ 5% power
No escape. No remorse. No get out of jail free card. No short cuts.
Do the crime you face the time.

But then all you do is delete characters and bypass the time, if at any time you see 'instant level 90 in the cash shop'.
A multiboxer will simply have the thing follow and work off its time anyway, but at least it will be useless for a long time.
And the rich kids simply pay players to build a character for them and they buy2play a 'clean' levelled avatar from your nearest quality asian grind shop.
    They play you long time!

@Rune_Relic you should go and learn how to play and defend yourself, instead of asking for game mechanics to protect you all the time instead.

This is "conflict based MMO" (IS marketing term, not mine) so either play "the conflict" or go play tetris.

Its not about combat or not. Whose leet and whose a carebear.
Its about a time and a place and whether PvP should be 100% on in 100% of the game.
I gather you will be most disturbed by the fact people can run into their house and escape.
Thats a safe zone. Might have escaped your attention.
