Divine Metropolis

Since no unique unlocked service is yet known for this type of Metropolis I started thinking what would we a good idea.

How about Tax-Free living, Donation-only, But Donations given to the player-run government are multiplied, x3 for example.
So if someone wants to live there for free they can, and others who want to support the metropolis financially will see their donations multiplied by 3.

Just an idea, but one that feels pretty good. :-)

Comments

  • Or a Divine Portal, allowing Cross-server travel for Residents :-)
  • id like to see something like a lessened death penalty or something. since its holy magic that does the reviving.
  • Or perhaps a Divine Link, linking all Divine Nodes on the server to the Divine Metropolis and turning them into child-nodes, so that they can only be sieged/destoyed if and when the Divine Metropolis is succesfully sieged and De-leveled.

The difference in our reality and Ashes is that their gods are real, and appear on Verra. There are multiple gods. I believe 10 was the quote and 6 that are "player" worshipped gods. Most likely divine nodes will need to declare their pantheon and there will be benefits based off of that choice going forward all the way up to metro level.

    Religion

There are six religions planned for game launch and having a ranking system within those religions based on your progression line within the religion's system.

    • Can follow only 1 religion.[10]
    • Has its own ranking system.[10]
    • Strong religions may gain augments for primary skills.[10]
    • Will be a big motivator, not an aesthetic.[10]

[31:48] Religion; What advantages/progression will religion give you as you advance within in it?

    1. The religion system in and of itself is like a society in itself.
    2. Going to have advancements in the church itself
    3. That is going to reflect your interaction with the religious community. Performing quests/building temples, etc.
    4. Going to have additional augments/customizations based on your religion and that is going to reflect the religion/deity.
    5. Organization choices will affect what types of augments/skills you have access to, including religion.
    6. We want them all to have a strong flavor but also have mechanical systems to back that up.

[33:39] Religion; What determines a players position in the hierarchy of the religion?

    1. It depends on their dedication to the religion itself; their performance when it comes to certain religious objective; their contribution to the religion itself.

[34:12] Religion; Will there be a science based path that players can progress down for players who don’t use the religious system?

    1. The thing is that in this world there are actual gods who exist and you see them.
    2. You can abstain from going down the religious advancement path if you want, but you’re going to miss out on extra side-grade options (won’t miss out on direct power-up).
    3. There’s no real atheists in the game because the gods regularly interact with the mortals of the world.

Do we have evil gods or demonic beings to worship?

    1. Little bit of a reveal
      1. Beginning of the universe was a result of group of gods/beings, 10 of them.
      2. Celestial struggle happened.
      3. Those gods fractured(?)
      4. Two components of Good and Evil.
        1. Potential for some storylines to relate to that Evil half.
          1. Maybe not Evil, but Dark (2spooky)
    2. Short answer, yes.
  • There is only one God and that's yours truly as the dead do not squabble as this land’s rulers do. The dead do not fight one another. The dead have no desires, no petty jealousies or ambitions. A world of the dead is a world at peace

    VERY interesting.
That changes my perspective a LOT.
Gonna do some research and fantasizing about this. :-)
  • Divine Metropolis Unique Service, ZOI Temporary blessings (Temporary Primary Skill Religion Augments for Non-Follower Religions)
So you could go to the Metropolis Church for example to receive a temporary blessing of your choosing for one of the religions that you are not a follower of, giving you a Permanent Follower-Augment plus a Temporary Non-Follower-Augment, but only as long as you are in the Divine Node's ZOI.
  • And instead of a Dragon the Node Leader flies around on a Phoenix, with the ability to Mass Heal and Revive residents fighting of Sieges. :-)

All of your goodness is starting to make me feel nauseous. I swear my name used to mean something when it came to gods and cults "sigh."
