Community manager?
First off, I've missed all of you wonderful people.
So my question.
Do we have a community manager appointed yet?
I went a bit cuckoo, ok well totally nutso, as well as finally losing most of the hope I had that Ashes would be the game I'm looking for. *
It'll be great, there's no doubt in my mind of that, but it just won't be THE ONE for myself. Here's hoping that the majority of you all will find that it IS THE ONE for yourselves. I'm sure that it will be.
However, as I am a little lost without an MMO home, I'd like to try once again.
When I left I'd spent weeks working hard on a roleplay community website to support and run alongside the current site.
It wasn't meant as a competitor, but as a supporting complementary site, a window to what is currently perceived by most as a shadowy, secretive, clique, slightly kinky game play past time.
An effort aimed at both supporting rpers and non-roleplayers to show that even if they didn't class themselves as roleplayers, the roleplay community could not only benefit them, but also help make their game a lot more fun.
I did not get a good reception from the guy who set up the other RP site, whilst I understand his position, I don't believe that's the way that Ashes should be heading.
This was very, very discouraging.
Groups who hide away don't normally fare well, we should head out into the light and be proud of who we are, dispel the myths of RP and make it simple for anyone to access the community easily, no matter their playstyle.
After all, when everyone can understand better about the benefits of roleplay, then trolls are more likely to be seen as immature bullies rather than acceptable members of a game world community that they themselves will benefit from being part of.
To fully get the project going, I needed some questions answered by the dev team, but came up against a brick wall.
For all of the lip service about community, developer communication, it really wasn't there for me when it came to asking significant questions directly.
At the time, the lack of community manager really seems to have been the missing link to getting the project off the ground. I'm hoping that a community manager has now been appointed?
If so, who?
With thanks and much love to all.
* TMI:
Why I went nuts. Just incase anyones randomly interested:
I had a hormonal coil contraceptive device implanted, which had the effect of amongst other things fecked up my already unstable, legal drug managed brain chemistry, re-triggering amonst others my cognition and cognitive issues and emotional instability.
Do not attempt that yourself, but I've been a lot better after I ripped that fracker out.
So my question.

Are you being serious or joking?
I am sorry to hear about the level of conflict that started when you tried to form an RP community. Seems like having several linked together would be the goal of a genuine RP community.
If you get back up and going, please DM me, I think I would much rather play with you
You say that now......
The lack of CM in my opinion is the biggest community pitfall we have right now. There's a few issues that have sprung up that would probably have been nipped in the bud had a CM been at the helm.
Hopefully "soon".
So if you are reasonably fit and healthy, please dig a little deeper than I did. There was also alternative work on acorn and mistletoe many years ago that was abandoned for no good reason. I think of it now as putting too much current through an underrated electrical cable, rather than the sheath being attacked or malfunctioning.
As said. Welcome back.
