at 58:05 religion classes were mentioned, any1 else got more info on this?:)

is this seperate from second archetype or is it additional?:O cause i'd love to go deus vult on all their asses xD

  • My understanding is religion will provide another route to augment class skills, to what extent we do not know, but think of it as flavoring the classes.
  • Maybe another type of skill route in the game, maybe something similar to a profession.
  • i think what @AutumnLeaf says makes the most sense, just another tree similar to your second class that adds depth to your play style

    Considering we know for a fact that the gods exist in Ashes, it doesn't make sense to be atheist. You can choose not to follow a religion and or worship a god(s), though.
  • Religion classes? Like Sunday School?
  • I guess all of the Cleric hybrids would be Religion Classes.
    We have been told that players that do not participate in the religions will miss out on a lot of deep content. This won't affect their abilities, leveling, etc., but as a player there would be missed content.

    We also know that the more "devout" your character the more augments you gain from your religion.

    I like this, Religion doesn't dictate or demand a class, it compliments them and makes them "fuller."
  • Makes me wonder if...
    Combat skill = Military tree
    Trade skill = Economic tree.
    Craft skill = Scientific tree
    ..the deeper you go down one tree the more you sacrifice the others.

    If that was the case, only military trained people who focus on the combat tree would be able to defend themselves in combat. That would require other means of protection. But then again perhaps using one would not lock out the others. I will look for hints in past info.

    If clerics are auto religious classes....would it not mean there is auto economic, military and scientific classes ?



  • i truly hope for the inclusion of non-hierarchy religions. . . . the world is complicated enough without having to ride the "what's the difference between pope and king" aspects inherent to hierarchical religion.

    I did say ANTI-THEISM which means a rejection of the notion that a god or gods are necessarily good.

    I'm afraid I do not understand. Who said the gods had to be good? And, what is "good"? Do the gods decide what is good? Does each god have a different idea of what is good? Or do they collectively come up with what is good? Maybe some gods think destruction is good...
  • The point of Anti-theism isn't to declare the gods themselves as bad, or to not believe in them. Being an anti-theist in Verra would be acknowledging the gods are real (or choosing to disbelieve as a form of irrationality), but also acknowledging that worshiping them is not positive for society.

    Just because they have all mighty powers and walk among us does not mean we need to form human (or whatever race you choose) hierarchies and worship them in mass. That prevents us from becoming better, because we could just ask the gods to make it easier.

    I, for one, will be devout to the god that makes most sense for my character. Atheism would be an insane mans plea. In Verra Anti-theism could be the movement to convince the masses that religion is not good for society, regardless of the god(s).
