What theme do you picture for your Inn?

I know, I know, we don't have enough info on Inns yet. Ok fine, just never mind all of that, and gives us your idea of the how your Inn will look. What is your vision of the perfect place?

From how the Inn keeper will look, to the stuff on the walls, what will you do?

Me I am not sure if I will do an Inn, I am more the armor and weapons maker type. But my wife loves that type of stuff, and I am working on her to play this game. She wants to see it, before she says yes GAWD! lol Anyway, lets her iyour ideas.

Comments

  • Weapon smithing is literally in my blood. I look forward to settling down when I have finished all the achievements and build a forge of renown out in the wilderness.
So someone better damn well build an Inn next door.
    Thirsty work smithing!
  • If I were to run one I'd like a game house. People bring in their hunting and fishing kills and the best beasts get mounted on the wall. Plenty of the gambling/mini game tables as well.
  • Over the last 3 years I've had a lot of fun doing Archeage 101, a sort of school for new players in Archeage.

I'm going to set up something similar both out of game (Stream, YouTube) but the entire Freehold/Tavern idea allows me to do it in game as well.

My idea is to have a set up, somewhere in the quieter part of the world, where new players can travel to, get some help in game, and then take that message back out into the world.

  • Well I can't deny I have invisioned this inside my head a few times even though I have no idea of what kind of furniture or decorations will be available in game. So I can picture the outside based on what they have showed in the freehold videos. and a ton of imagination.

if the building is inside a node then what I picture for the outside of the building is something along the lines of this:

as for the inside no idea what will be possible, but my expectations are around this:

Good lord, it will take you a RL month to fill them kegs. lol
  • Wait what you can build INN? now thats cool
  • I've been thinking of opening an Inn (or maybe a tavern) when the game goes live. Oh the possibilities!

    My vision:

After a long day of doing various things in game, I'd like to have a place for people to sit back and relax. Whether it's at the beginning of the day, middle of the day, or the end of the day, anyone is welcome to hang out and socialize. A comfy cozy atmosphere with food, drinks and games to enjoy. Inns usually provide lodgings too so I hope to provide plenty of space for that.

I do like the photos everyone else posted. It'll be interesting to see how they'll look ingame in various nodes.
  • Technically it wouldn't so much be an Inn but one of our guilds hangouts to come together enjoy some tea or other drink of choice, feast upon the hunted game meet up and have some chilled downtime from all the adventure out there with laughter, games and chatter.
Somewhere in the woods on a hidden path you at best stumble upon by chance once in a suns lifetime.

The outside would be something small and modest, it's supposed to be hidden after all. Something cute and adorable, maybe with a touch of mystery surrounding it's appearance.

Through some time space distortion tho the inside is A LOT bigger tho to have room for everyone.
As for the interior I don't even hope to find something representative, because the main floor would be a mess of jumbled up together styles. It would be brightly lit as if you where sitting outside on a beautiful spring day, that's for sure and it would have a high ceiling to give a sense of freedom.
You would find every possible cultural sitting behavior. From the classic sturdy and beautifully crafted chairs and desk of the dwarf, to intricate works of art by the elves. From the hunting trophy loaden chair of an orc to the simple pleasure of a simple desk and lot's of variation the human cultures usually bring. From sitting on the floor to hanging upside down from the ceiling. They would all be jumbled up together in a hot mess and placement would change every part of the day as people move them around as they want.
A masterpiece of artistic living chaos. Altho there would be a number of rooms for the quiet people among us. Libraries where we collect all the history, legends and stories we encounter and hope to encounter as well as rooms with a fireplace to sit or lie around in blissfully warm silence or the quieter kind of conversation.

You need both in your live at times after all as well as good food, the kitchen would be, just, the best.
Pets and animals are welcomed inside as long as they are clean, same for people.

I can dream right? <torn between the happy thoughts and the sad reality of not happening>
  • If in a military node? A gaming hell--like the ones that used to litter the dials of ol' London. Gambling and booze that attract all the ruckus from nobles and Mercs alike. The best to worst drinks to the shadiest and most rewarding contracts. Dark but not dingy. Keep the place simply furnished with sturdy dark woods, warm fires and the occasional fur rugs. Gotta make sure the kitchen is always cooking.

No true rest for the weary, my friends. In these times, only the dead sleep with both their eyes closed. >:)

Well one things for sure...there is going to be a wealth of unique Inns worth exploring and of which tails will no doubt be told... about it and within it.
