Will you be able to customize npcs in your city?

Me being the doofus I am, i kind of compared this to other mmorpgs and a show/manga called "Overlord", let my shaming begin. I heard somewhere that in this you'll be able to create a city or village of sorts and was wondering if only players would be able to defend it. In the show there were armies of people in their base made so well nothing was able to make it to the front door. In AOC will you be able to customize npcs to your liking and make them less capable or just as able as a player exept stationary ,or will there be a set group of people who inhabit your village that you can train to defend? Anything along those lines would be appreciated here.

  • I'm not sure your usage of the word "economy"here is applicable.

In Ashes of Creation, you are able to level up nodes, which are in pre-determined locations. These nodes eventually become villages, towns and cities. This is an activity that takes dozens or even hundreds of players to accomplish.

The subject of NPC guards has not been fully decided by the developers ( to my knowledge), but they have said that if implemented, they would supplement player defense, and not be any kind of manor barrier to an attacking side.

I am not sure if is it what are you asking but when one of races dominate buildings and npc clothes will change dependent which race dominate in node.  Nodes have 4 different types, Scientific, Economic, Militaristic, and Divine. Each one have different style
  • @Rainer I don't think I completely understand what you said but I appreciate the gesture

I will just say that @Rainer has answered the question but I will just say to you a few more things. You won't be able to edit npc stats, however if the node you are a citizen of/or any node that does levels up the skill of the npc guards within it level up as well and more npc traders come to it though higher level mobs come and even event bosses could spawn etc. Additionally the race that gives the highest node xp when the node levels up the node will change as well as the npcs inside will change its style to that races theme. I cannot confirm whether or not the node and npc appearance can also change outside of a node level if a certain race is doing more xp we will have to see closer to a later test phase because I know they will be people that might join the node later when it at its end stage and don't want the dwarf theme and prefer elven theme.

    I hope this helps  ;)
  • @Manoma
I mean when 60% of node population are elves then NPC will have elves clothes including architecture. Meaby even more NPC will be elfs.

And when you have military node you will see more soldiers, sience node more alchemist itc...
  • At the very least how about some guild colors for NPC armor and clothes.
  • We likely won't get to customize NPCs.
  • first of all a bit Fanboyshit OVERLORD *-* +_+ *-* Rawllr lawwl ... ok second i think it would be cool to choose the look of Amor maybe they will give us 10 different Amor types o we can add a bit of our own to the nodes
