will we see an ingame library ?

hey i thought it would be nice to see an ingame library where you can youst read a few Facts about the wrld and the Mobs your killing everyday would be an nice aspect for an roleplay character ^^

maybe we will get something like this ?

Comments

  • I would love something like this. Would be interesting if they added different mob tactics that you could learn about, giving those who choose to read an advantage over those who don't
  • I expect we will see libraries in Scholars Academies.
    Possibly also in Temples.
I think we may even be able to add Libraries to city and metropolis nodes.
How much reading will be available, we will have to wait and see.
  • ESO level off novels or bust!
  • i imagine with scientific nodes being a thing knowledge through the written word would be consider of the utmost importance; so probably.
  • Wouldn't it be interesting if there were sections of the library written by the players themselves? It would probably need some filtering to avoid the obvious trash comments, but I'm sure it could be moderated with relative ease. I would love to read a collection of scholarly articles written about specific monsters/people/dungeons by people. It would be even more brilliant if it became something that could earn an income or perk.
  • I also imagined something like when People reach a new dungeon and beat the boss Mob can find an Book in the library where the dungeon Mobs are explaint like "they eat ..." "they do alot more dmg to peoples behind them" "you just can damage them while they are charging an attac" Things like that xD and ofc some random shit like " they taste very good with some honey"
  • Something that I would really like is a library in your freehold/house that gets filled with every book you read in the game :3
  • Neeeerds!

But seriously, I love details in games like this. I actually picked up books in Skyrim and collected them in my house until I had no where left to put them... Just like in real life....

  • I'd be fairly upset if we didn't get any grand library of any sorts. Something metropolises could have i suppose

Or a mage tower of some sort
  • My freehold will be a library and I most certainly will have absurd late fees! Fair warning now!
  • if they were going to implement a library then I hope players can write notes and books about the world around us. I would love to have a scribe skill (log horizon/overlord anime lol)

the world is suppose to be as big as 30 skyrim's......that's a lot and I don't even know if that includes the under realm, ocean, and underwater content. it would be good for players to make maps, charts, books, and everything to share with one another.

I can even think that someone can write bogus books to lead people a stray, this would be soo awesome.

In game library and even random books you encounter through quests or just exploration in general to give tid bits of lore or even stuff like MOB strengths and vulnerabilities is always a great Idea. Thank for bringing up this topic. I really hope this gets added into the game.
  • Yes yes and more yes

Thinking last week about how racial progression might be tied to node progression had me wondering if having the max amount of Dünir lore in the game might require a Dünir Library to be built in a Dünir Metropolis.
Which could lead to quite a bit of meaningful conflict since only 5 out of 9 such Libraries could be existent at the same time.

Ok now I need my mausoleum to have a library with nothing but in-game lore and spells. Oh I think I just shed a tear please IS add this into free holds
  • Oh!
Such a devious way to lure in new initiates!
    I love it!
  • Libraries which actually contains interesting books of lore and history would be nice. Also if books contain meaningful information related to some quests, tasks, treasures, guides, creatures, bosses etc. would be great. Also letting players to write books by themselfs would be awesome and maybe even letting them to sell those or get commission when someone loans those from library.

In EQ2 you can acquire a lore book and weapon (to place in house) by killing mobs and getting bits from them to complete a collection of parts.  The thinking is you will learn about them as you kill them in the world.

There are also player written books that the author can replicate and sell.

Having a home library is very nice but each book does take up "space" and would probably go against your housing item count; so having a city/society library would be a better option game mechanic-wise.

shhhhhh I want my library even if I have to burn every node to the ground I will get my books!
  • Don't get me wrong my EQ2 house if full of lore books, player written books (some mine), quest books, and lore weapons; all proudly displayed.
