I like @Gothix ideas on this...he does have quite a few good ones now and then.
Basically this could encourage the creation of more guilds (instead of people bunching up in several large ones).
Anyway, my answer to the OP is "maybe" because it depends on a lot of things, including what I said above - balancing solo plays with guilds ...leaning heavily towards "No" but hoping for something more interesting and balanced.
Second, even if the game refers to guilds with a noun other than "guild", people will still call them guild. To me, it kind of makes the whole thing a bit pointless, and would just seem odd to new-comers to the game.
Third, it has been many years since I saw a (non-troll) guild using the world "guild" in it's name. If the game starts displaying other nouns for the same function - whether people use them or not - it 'could' have a negative effect in regards to people not wanting to use those particular words to name their guild.
All up, it really doesn't matter. It doesn't add anything to the game at all.
I'm not so much against the idea as I see no point to it.
There will be a cap around 500 I think.
